Age is just a number - Addicted to CAS #49

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulously talented Kylie's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has an awesome codeword for us.

Now, I had all sorts of different ideas for this one, but then, serendipitously, sitting on my desk - staring at me... no... shouting USE ME! was a brand new stencil I had ordered for my art journaling.  I looked at it and realized it was just what I needed for my card. :-)

I started with  Island Indigo card stock and I placed the stencil on top of it.  I had a bottle of Dylusions spray on my desk - also one of the new things I bought for my art journaling - and realized it was the perfect color to provide a tone-on-tone look for Island Indigo.    It's messy... but it was worth it.

I let it dry and then used my SU Banner framelit to cut out a piece of the stenciled numbers that I had created.   I didn't have the sentiment I needed, so opened up my word processing software and created the sentiment and printed it out onto vellum.

I had a little piece of the stenciled numbers left, so created a third banner from that and added it to the card.  After all, you know I HAVE to do things in threes!

I used my Lil Inkers stitched rectangles (again!) for both the card base and the mat layer.  I really do love the way they frame everything up so nicely.

I finished off the card with a couple of enamel elements in black and white.  I like the little touch they give.   I also love that this color scheme is neither masculine nor feminine.  I mounted the banners - and the mat layer with dimensionals to give them just a little lift and to give the card a little more dimension.

As it is a new month, we have a new guest designer at Addicted to CAS this week.  She's a very talented lady from a country that I love - and spent 20 years living in.  Welkom Hannelie, bly te kenne.  Suid-Africa is 'n wonderlike land :-)

If you play along and are chosen as the winner for our challenge - our fabulous sponsor whimsy stamps has another great set of digis for you to win

On a personal note:

I have a nature photo to share with you tonight.   We haven't had many visits from these guys for the whole summer, but they did grace us with their presence a couple of times these past few days.

Turkeys (1 of 1)-2

We had a rafter of about 6 of them in the woodland and underneath the river birch trees that we planted earlier this year.  They spend ages scratching around for food and then quietly wander off.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

i love the colour scheme and the spray worked beautifully on the Island Indigo cardstock. Those enamel dots are gorgeous! When you get a chance, let me know please how you adhered your vellum to the card without anything showing through! xx

Fabulous color scheme and what a cool stencil! You know, I never think to get out the word processor to do sentiments...You're constantly showing me ways to move outside my comfort zone--thank you!
