Four Feathers - Inspiration

Hi Everyone.

Happy Thursday.  I hope you are all having a great week.

Well, the one thing I have learned in the last couple of weeks is that the less time you spend creating, the less things you have to show on your blog!  As I have spent almost no time in my craft room the last few weeks, I really don't have very much to show you.  However, I do still have some of the fabulous swap cards to show you and decided it was high time I shared with you a couple of gorgeous cards made with the Four Feathers stamp set.

I really do like this set and realize that I haven't given it anywhere near as much love as I should!

The first card I have to show you is one made by Mercedes Weber.  I really love her repetition of circles and how she clustered the elements in the bottom left corner.  I would never have put these colors together, but they work so well together.  The touch of hesian is the perfect touch to add more texture, but add very little bulk.

The next beauty was created by Jennifer Rawlings.  I love the white woodgrain background and touch of gold sequin trim.  I've never thought to use it as an accessory in this way, but it's fabulous!  The tag colors tie beautifully to the feathers and the background DSP.  Gorgeous card.

Looking at these two cards, I really do think I need to use this set more often!

On a personal note:

Well, Lou and I have been home from our cruise for two weeks.  So much has happened since we got home, that it has been really hard to get anything done - including crafting!  We did have a truly fabulous time on our trip though and celebrated our anniversary and that's a whole post of it's own!

We sailed out of NYC and into Quebec.  From the modern to the old!  The cruise we went on was called the Fall Colors and it certainly lived up to it's name.

I had to share a few photos of our sail away from New York City.

I loved this photo of the moon in the sky so early in the evening.  It seemed appropriate that the sun never set on New York - and continued to highlight the area that now houses One World Trade and the museum.  I am sure that many of us on that ship, sailing out of NYC on that beautiful Fall day, remembered - and probably shed a few tears... I know I did... in memory of those that lost their lives.

Lady Liberty was in shadow as the sun was setting, but she stood proud over her city and over Ellis Island.  She looked so beautiful.

When we arrived at JFK airport, it was raining, but when we sailed away, the sun was shining and it was absolutely glorious.

I'll have more photos for you later :-)  I'll also have an updated on Cards for a Cause card drive!

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Anniversary wishes for you two!
The cards are very nice, I like the DSP on the 2nd one. Nice combinations.
Thank you for sharing your pictures. The 1st one I could feel it in my heart when I saw it. What a day! I will always remember where I was when I heard as well as JFK's shooting.
May God bless you and Lou. Your blogs mean so much to me..the cards, fur babies, Lou's projects and your gorgeous wet lands and wild life. Thanks for your sharing and being a friend.
