Friendship for Paper Players # 219

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great sketch challenge for us.

I really liked the idea of the element at the top left corner but, when I made my card, I realized that I had not rounded the bottom right corner!  By then, I had already stuck down all the elements, so I couldn't go back and fix it.  I do think it would have helped to balance the element in the top left if I had done it :-)

I have had so little time to craft these last few weeks and realized that I still had my Simon Says Stamp October card kit unopened.  I needed a card and the elements in the kit were perfect for the card I needed - and Nance's sketch.

Here's my card:

Pp219 (1 of 1)

The kit comes with a cup die, a coffee themed stamp set and some bright DSPs.  I paired them with Early Espresso and Pumpkin Pie card stock from SU and, of course, had to bring out my Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies. :-)

For the heart cut out, I took a piece of Real Red card stock and stuck it behind the cut out.  I know you can't see it, but the heart has lots of nice glimmer from a touch of my Wink of Stella glitter pen!  I popped the cup, that I cut from some of the included SSS DSP, up on dimensionals and embossed the sentiment in white embossing powder.   I really love this sketch and think it is very versatile.  The other Players must have thought so, too, because they have some fabulous inspiration for you.

I hope you pop along to their websites and check out their fabulous cards and... don't forget to play along with us this week.  We would love to see what you create.

On a personal note:

Fall is definitely here.  No stopping winter from being right on its heels!  The weather has been gorgeous, in the low 60s during the day, and we have been trying to enjoy every last night of it.  In fact, we have slavishly gone outside to sit under the deck every night... until we get too cold and have to come inside.  It seems that we really don't feel that we have gotten full use out of our new area this year and that we need to hold on for as long as we can:-)  The cats still love being out there and the chipmunk is very lucky that the screen is super strong!  A couple of times one of the cats has run the full length of the screened in porch and gone crashing into the screen, only to bounce off it :-)

We are both eager to see what Spring brings in the wetland.  Will it be as wet as it was last year and will that allow us to see some of the amazing water birds we saw this year?  We really hope so.  We noticed that the council had come around the wetland and re-marked the wetland areas.  Based on the placement of the flags, the wetland has increased in size from when they originally pegged it out.  We noticed that we have more wetland on our property now than we did originally.  I think you can tell that we aren't unhappy about that :-)

I'll be back tomorrow with another project to show you.  In the meantime, thank you so much for your visits and your comments.  They really do mean a great deal to me.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
