Peace for Paper Players #218

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a CAS challenge with a twist.

I have a Memory Box stamp that I bought many years ago and still love to use it on CAS Christmas cards.  I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.  I paired it with some Silver embossing powder and Stampin' Up! silver foil specialty card stock.

I really like the look of the silver foil card stock behind the focal image as it frames the image without overpowering it, and, of course, I really love the script look of the font with the "peace" as the main element.  It would look good in gold, too :-)

The design team have created some amazing cards for your inspiration.  I hope you will pop along to their blogs and check out their cards.

We hope that you will play along with us this week.  We would really love to see what you create with this CAS challenge with a twist.

On a personal note:

I think I am going to have to give in to the fact that winter is on the way and that we are well and truly into fall.  The air is crisp, but we still managed to sit outside for a little while tonight and watch the setting sun before it got just too cold.  The cats have been loving sitting in the safety of the screened-in porch watching the birds and, especially, keeping an eye out for the chipmunk!

I'll be back on Tuesday with another project.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Card stock:  #110 Recollections
  • Speciality Card Stock:  Stampin' Up! Silver Foil
  • Stamp:  Memory Box Peace Collage
  • Inks:  Encore Silver.
  • Tools:  Heat Gun.  Silver Embossing Powder

Beautiful CAS card. The silver embossing really makes it a rich looking card.
Enjoy your day

The silver embossing looks wonderful with the script stamp. Lovely card!

Very elegant card, that embossing is so pretty! I really like how the word PEACE stands out, too.

Stunning! So elegant and simple and wonderful!

Autumn is only FINALLY showing up around these parts. It's all rather lovely. I've been taking loads of pics over at CW, ready to flood the blog with them yet again. ;o) I don't know if I'm taking photos often enough to do another regular blog...Hm. It's worth considering, though. :o)

P.S. Hi Lou!

What a gorgeous image, and how beautiful it looks embossed in gold and trimmed in foil. Lovely, elegant, CAS card, Jaydee!

Gorgeous card! It is stunning with the silver and the white! I'm jealous of your cooling temps -- it was still in the 80s here today.

I love this simple card, Jaydee....this stamp IS perfect for the challenge, so very pretty!

I agree--gorgeous stamp. So pretty and elegant it needs nothing else but the embossing and silver paper. Lovely card, my friend!
