Wondrous Wreath - Inspiration
09 October 2014
Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday.
Well, I promised to share a little more inspiration from the swap that I participated in. Tonight's cards feature a stamp set and framelits that were not on my list, so I'm really pleased that they were part of the swap so that I can show you some cards made with it. Here's the link to the set on SU Wondrous Wreath bundle.
Let's start with a bright and shiny - and you know I always love bright and shiny! - card from Mercedes. I love the silver Joy and how it is emphasized with the silver and snowflake sequins. The silver dots at the top of the page are a great background for the sentiment and help to emphasize the feel of snow. Gorgeous.
For a change of pace, let's go to Kim's card. She created a fabulous fall card. I love the colors from the Color Me Autum DSP and how Kim used those as the colors for her wreath. I also love that she showed us that this isn't just a Christmas set :-) The little wooden element is the perfect way to anchor the sentiment and to reinforce the fall theme. Gorgeous.
The last card for tonight comes from Linda and I love how much texture and interest Linda managed to infuse onto this fabulous card. I'm sorry but I couldn't find a link to a blog for Linda. Linda used the Gold Foil sheets and the woodgrain embossing folder to create a card with the warmth of a forest cabin in the depth of winter. I really had images of walking up to the cabin with smoke billowing out of the chimney and the warm glow of candlelight in the windows. yeah... I have an overactive imagination :-) Anyway, here is Linda's fabulous card.
I hope you enjoyed the inspiration from my fellow demos and got some great ideas on how you can use this set - and how versatile it is.
On a personal note:
I managed to catch this great shot when I was photographing the feeder. It's the look on the little downwy woodpecker's face that is so funny. I swear I can hear her saying "get off my feeder you stupid little chickadee". Well, at least I think it is a chickadee... it's either a chickadee or a nutchatch!
The great thing about uploading the photographs that I take, is that I am often very surprised by what is in the photo! As I type this blog post, that same silly woodpecker is on the chair on the deck trying to peck at the steel back! He must be giving himself such a headache. Ooo.. no... he decided he was going to go and peck at the herb box instead :-) One of the things I have learned living where we do.... woodpeckers are immense characters! Because of the close proximity of our woodland to our house, we have gotten to know them really well and they really do make me smile!
I'll be back on Saturday with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
