Happy Thanksgiving
Peace for Paper Players #224

Enjoy the Holidays for Addicted to CAS

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday

It's the fabulous Loll's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and she has a great code word:

Once again, we have a fabulous prize for the winner of our challenge and this week we are sponsored by:

Inspired by Stamping

This week Joanna, the owner/illustrator of Inspired by Stamping shares some fabulous inspiration with us as a guest designer and we are also joined by our Guest Designer for November - Linda.

Now, before I get to my card, I have to tell you that Lou and I went Black Friday shopping today and I REALLY think that it addled my brain.....   When we got back, I made a card not only for this challenge, but also my Paper Players challenge tomorrow and my Addicted to CAS card for the next challenge.  3 cards for 3 upcoming challenges.  I am so on top of things.....

NOT!

When I went to load my card to the Addicted to CAS design team blog, I couldn't work out why no-one had loaded their cards yet.  Mmmmm... strange I thought...... what is going on, I asked myself?  Well.... could it possibly be that I had made a card for a challenge which is for another week?  No! Surely not!  Could I?   Yep.... that's exactly what I had done.

So, I had to go rushing downstairs and make another card!  No worries, I thought.  I have a stamp set from PTI that has a Christmas tree with ornaments on it, that can act as my "dots".  Great idea.  Except... I can't find the stamp set!  I can find the package, all neatly put away exactly where it should be... but the entire stamp sheet has gone AWOL!  For someone as organized as I am, this is ridiculous!   I spent half an hour looking for the stamp set and eventually gave up and used the die that came with the stamp set and some SU polka dot paper.  By this time it was very dark outside, I was running very late, and could only manage to get a half-decent photograph of the card!

Now you have the entire story behind my card and why I will never go Black Friday shopping again!!!!

Anyway, here is my card.  The right card - for the right challenge :-)

I hope you will play along with us this week and don't forget to check out the fabulous cards from the design team.  They really do have some great inspiration for you.

On a personal note:

Lou and I had a very quiet and relaxed Thanksgiving.  We decorated the house yesterday morning and changed out the sage green curtains on our main floor for the rich red ones that we put up at this time of the year.  The red really does add a tremendous amount of warmth to the room and is fabulous with the white snow background outside.  I then cooked and we settled down to a nice non-turkey dinner and gave thanks for so many things :-)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

What a lovely CAS card as well as the cute little star tree toppers.
Oh, Jaydee, I feel for you and Lou for shopping on Black Friday. I done that once with my oldest daughter and Never, Ever again.
Hanging my head in shame here, but for me and hubby, we went to Michaels on Thanksgiving day. They didn't open till 4 so still had plenty of time to do some odds and ends at home before hand.
Being I do not drive and was hubby's day off, it did give me a good opportunity to get some items that I was running out of. I always said that I wouldn't do any shopping on Thanksgiving Day, as I felt that all the stores should be closed on such holidays like they used to be in years past when nothing was open. Last year our temperatures where in the 20's and having some really nasty weather but this year we where in the 60's, sun shining brightly and had a very light breeze on Thanksgiving Day.
Enjoy your evening and have a very wonderful and enjoyable weekend

Great story Jaydee! Funny how crafty things can go AWOL, even when you were using them a few minutes before (it happens to me quite often)!!

Love this card. Great idea to use the dotty DSP. I stayed home Black Friday as usual but did get out for Small Business Saturday. Got to support our small businesses. Can't wait to see all your decorations. I especially remember the outdoor Christmas tree with snow on it last year. Gorgeous. Have a great Sunday. We are off to church and then lunch with friends.

Cute card! I like your cards, they aren't cluttered with all kinds of embellishments, that make it too "busy".
Speaking of busy..Black Friday is not for me, either. People tend to forget the reason for the season!
I put my little Elf up and thought of yours. Keep warm and safe to you and Lou.

Oh man! This is SO something that would wind up happening to me! D'oh!!

For a rush job and one you weren't planning on, this is a beautiful card and delightful in its simplicity. I've pinned for CASEing purposes. ;oP Lissie comes Tuesday and I'm hoping we can get our stamping mojo going for two solid days of stamping. :fingers crossed:

Black Friday? I only go out after 10 when everyone else has gone home to go to bed. ;oP I made a trip to JoAnn for fabric and a sewing kit for Bitty for Christmas and to Lowe's with the entire family for Christmas lights for the tree. Then, home to veg and decorate for the day. Delightful. Will you share photos of those luscious red curtains? Mm. :o)

Hugs!

P.S. Hi Lou! Props to you for surviving Black Friday!
