Hi Everyone. Happy Monday.
I hope you all had a great fall weekend. I know we did.
I got to play along with Casethissketch this weekend and use some of my Simon Says Stamp November card kit DSP. Of course, I had to use my Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles. I tied it together with a stamp and die cut from Papertrey Ink. Let me start with the sketch:
I really liked the fact that the mat layer had a gap and the double sentiment layer. I realized I could use some Gold Embossing and tie that together with some of the gold foil from Stampin' Up!
Here's my card:
I love the mix of the greens with the gold. The stitched rectangle really helps to frame all of the elements so beautifully. The gold SU foil specialty paper is beautiful, especially in small areas. The mix of greens makes me happy and I really love the tree DSP in the card kit.
I hope you will pop along to CASETHISSKETCH and check out the fabulous inspiration cards and, of course, play along with the challenge.
On a personal note:
I wanted to share some photos from the next stop on our cruise. We landed in Rockland, Maine and went up to Camden, Maine. I have to tell you, I fell TOTALLY in love with Camden. What an amazing place. We spent a very short amount of time up Mount Battie and I fell totally in love with the place. We then went back into Camden and spent a little time walking around the water front. Seriously. I'm in LOVE!
I took this shot of Camden from Mount Battie. It wasn't the best weather, but it was gorgeous!
Whilst everyone was enjoying the view over the sea and over Camden, I wandered off and found THE most amaing little glen. Pammie... I so wish you had been with me. You would have been as enthralled as I was. No-one other than me went into this little glade and it was amazing. Here are some of the shots that I took.
This was my first view. It was just a rock formation surrounded by gorgeous trees and there was so much amazing flora nestled into each and every cranny.
Then.... I turned around... and saw this:
And there, right in the middle, was this little guy:
I can't tell you how happy this little place made me. Then, I was on my way out of the glen and found this..... without a doubt I knew that this would be an art journal page to remind me of this little place.
Reluctantly we left Mount Battie and drove back into Camden, but who could be disappointed by this:
We got back onto the ship and stood on our balcony as we sailed out of Rockland. To finish off the day, we saw this amazing little lighthouse. What a perfect way to finish a perfect day. I have to admit.... I left a little piece of my heart in that amazing glen on Mount Battie.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card for you. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I love going to your blog site everyday. Not only do you make beautiful cards I just love the pictures you take. I feel like I am on your trip!!!!! I keep thinking your photos would make beautiful cards. I do not take a lot of pictures but when I go to the Philadelphia Flower Show I take lots of pictures and turn them into cards.
