A Happy Thing for Paper Players #232
Hello You for Case this Sketch

Hugs for Seize the Birthday and Retrosketches

Hi Everyone.  Happy Monday.

Today's card was made using the Sieze the Birthday theme and the sketch from Retrosketches.

The toppings choice from Seize the Birthday was to use arrows and/or hearts.  Well, I decided that I had some rather nice arrow paper that had been included in my SSS February card kit that would work perfectly with this toppings choice.

Once I saw the retrosketches sketch and I knew that I could use my new Hugs dies from PTI... I mean.... how could I NOT buy a set that focuses on hugs?  Me!  I couldn't resist it :-)

As the DSP was pink, I used some SU Blushing Bride card stock as well as some Strawberry Slush.  They really seemed to work very well with the DSP and still allowed me to continue my 2015 resolutions and use colors that I don't give much love to!

I began by die-cutting the hugs in Strawberry Slush.  I die cut it three times and layered them together using Crystal Effects.   i wanted to give just a little dimension to the sentiment and layering helps to do that.   I then covered it with some clear glitter from my Wink of Stella pen... cos everything looks better with a little bit of glitter :-)

I stamped the Happy Birthday onto a strip of one of the arrow DSPs and then layered it over another.  I edged each side with a thin strip of Strawberry Slush and mounted everything on to the Blushing Bridge card base.   It needed just a little finishing touch... and i found some fabulous little flower sequins that I added into the middle of the swirls on the "hugs" die-cut and found an old cardboard arrow that I covered with pink glitter from an old pen.

Here's my finished card:

And here's a closeup of the arrow DSPs.   Aren't they great?

On a personal note:

I was going to share a valentine's day card with you today, but am holding out for a couple more days before I do that.  I also have a little blog candy planned to go along with the post:-)

Well, it seems that many of you are having some strange weather.... Doris with her 6-9 inches of snow.... Colleen with her freezing temps and cold rain... and I can't say that I disagree with Terri... I am SO ready for spring... and I'm betting Doris and Colleen are, too!!!!

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, keep warm and warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Such a beautiful card right down to the cute little flowered sequins.

Oh, Jaydee, I was ready for Spring when we first went below 30 deg. sometime ago. I absolutely hate the cold temperatures. At least our temperatures will be on the rise again later in the week. Crazy, crazy weather; down to freezing one day and up in the mid 60's the next. Spring can't come soon enough. Got spoiled last weekend when we where in the 70's and able to work outside in the nice warm sunshine.

Have an enjoyable day and a wonderful evening and stay warm
