Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our challenge at the Paper Players this week and she has a great sketch for you:
I love this sketch and immediately knew what I was going to use for the elements: Fine Feathers and Moon Lake ... they seemed like the perfect combo for the sketch.
I began by die cutting a circle using my Lil Inkers Stitched circles with Soft Sky card stock. Once I had the hole placed where I wanted it, I placed a piece of x-press card stock under neath and made a faint circle with my pencil.
I then inked up the image from Moon Lake with Memento Black ink and colored the image with various Copic Markers.
I stamped the sentiment on Vellum with StazOn Black and used the same vellum for the feathers. However, I didn't want the feathers to take away from the image, so I used Encore Silver Ink. It took a little while for the ink to dry on the vellum, but I set them saide whilst I worked on the rest of the card.
Here's my card:
It might be a little hard to see, but I actually used the SU canvas background stamp inked up with white ink on the front of the card. I just thought it needed a little "something", but I didn't want to use an embossing folder and the white ink gives just enough interest without distracting. Here's a closeup of the feathers and the hatching on the card base:
I needed something to anchor the feathers, and found a glass dot in my stash. The hatching on it matches the hatching on the card base and the color blends really well with the silver of the feathers. I was really pleased with the finished card :-)
I know that the design team must be pleased with their finished cards, too. They have outdone themselves again this week.

On a personal note:
It's going to be a quiet week from me this week I'm travelling again and it's midnight and I haven't packed or even finished the work that I have to have done before I leave tomorrow. Consequently, NO time in my craft room this week and no time to create posts before I left. I will try and pop in and show you a couple of cards I have made in the last couple of weeks and will be sharing a little blog candy. So, I hope you will come back and check out my blog.
I hope you are all staying warm... it's almost impossible to stay warm here! We are back to several days of minus 25 to minus 35 degree days. Spring cannot come soon enough!!! I know that many of you feel the same way :-)
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
