Happy Birthday for Paper Players #237

Bird Crazy for Addicted to CAS #60

 Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

I am happy to report that my poor-ailing Mac is back from Apple Hospital and appears to be running as good  as new... or, in my case, better than it has since we bought it!

It's the fabulously talented Loll's turn to host our challenge this week and she has a great code word for us:

Now.. there were so many places I could go with this code word and, in fact, I made two different cards for the challenge and couldn't make up my mind which one to showcase today.  I went backwards and forwards several times before I decided Bird Crazy was it!

Before I get to my card, let me share with you the fabulous prize from our sponsor:

The winner's prize is 12.50 euro (1 stamp set)  to our winner.

If you haven't checked out our fabulous guest designer's blog, you really need to.  Birgit is so talented and she really showcases her talent with her card for this week's challenge!

So, on to my card!   My regular blog reader's will know that I am passionate about the birds in our garden and when I saw this set from Tim Holtz, I immediately fell in love with it.

Seriously, aren't those images cute???  I thought they were perfect for the challenge, especially when I realized I could pair them with a couple of sentiment sets to reinforce the "cute" theme even more!

Here's my card

Bird Crazy

Oh!  I had such fun creating this card. :-)  I began by stamping the images onto white card stock and using my Ranger Distress Inks to color them.  I love the Distress Inks because the colors blend so beautifully.  Once I had the birds colored, I fussy cut around them and mounted them to a Soft Sky base.  Then, I realized I had to give them something to sit on, so used this Memory Box die from Simon Says Stamp.  It's such a versatile die - especially considering it is less than $6!  I die cut the branch from Early Espresso card stock and adhered it to the focal point layer so that it looked as though my birds were resting on it:-)

Once I had that, I mounted my birds onto the base using Stampin' Dimensionals and then set about doing the sentiment.   I paired the "cutie" from Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings with the "HELLO" from Stampin' Up!'s Crazy about You set and stamped them onto a Simon Says Stamp "Talk Bubbles" die cut.

I felt the talk bubble needed a little sumthin' sumthin, so I used my marker to create stitching around it and finished off the bubble with a red glimmer paper heart cut from my Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Punches pack.  I finished off the card by mounting the panel on to a Neenah Solar White #110 card base.

So, do you think it fits the "cute" challenge?  I hope so!  I think it does :-)  Mind you, I still have at least 1 more card to share with you using this code word this week :-)

I do hope you will play along with our challenge this week and don't forget to check out the fabulous inspiration cards from our very talented design team!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card and some nature shots!  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
