Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulously talented and all round amazing lady - Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a color challenge for us. The minute I saw the colors I knew that I would be inking up Painted Petals! The colors just shouted spring :-)
I really wanted to go very clean and simple for this challenge to allow these delicate colors to shine and used one of my go to layout; a tag on a card with a simple string tie.
Before we get to my card, let's take a look at Anne Marie's colors:
See what I mean about spring? The only color I was worried about was Crumb Cake. It isn't a color I reach for often, but it is a great neutral and I decided to incorporate that into the sentiment - and on the tie of the tag.
Here's my take on the challenge:
I love the soft colors with all of that white space. The simple hemp string, cutrled with my scissors, echoes the softness but does not over power the flowers. I raised the tag on fun foam so that it would be above the card base, but go through the post in one piece.
Of course, I had to add a little shimmer with my Wink of Stella pen and, even though you can't see it in the photograph, if adds just the right amount of bling on the flowers :-)
The design team have some amazing inspiration cards for you. I hope you will pop along to their blogs and check out their cards and... that you will come back and play along with us. We would love to see what you create.
On a personal note:
Today, the temperature reached a wonderful 40 degrees! That means it was 70 degrees warmer than it has been. We put out our chairs on the front porch and I sat in the suntrap for about 15 minutes. It was wonderful to feel the warm sun on my face. It did seem incredibly odd sitting there with the snow all around though :-) However, based on the forecast for the coming 10 days..... that snow should be gone by next weekend! We have had snow on the ground for almost 5 months and I am so ready to see the plants start to shoot up their new offerings of the season!
I've always loved the Minnesota winters, but think I am at the point where I would like to be able to enjoy my garden for more than 3 or 4 months of the year. I walk past our screened in porch, with all the furniture wrapped up for winter, and long for those summer and autumn nights when we sat outside watching the wildlife and enjoying the warm breezes. Yep.... it's official. I'm suffering from cabin fever :-)
I haven't gotten into my craft room at all this week, but am hoping to spend some quality time in there tomorrow. If I do, then I will have some cards to share with you this week. I think I am ready for some relaxation - classical music and inks and paper!
In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight and I hope your days are getting warmer!
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee this card is so elegantly CAS - love the white-on-white tag, it really lets the little flowers and colours take centre stage. The twine adds just the right amount of texture and visual interest too. Gorgeous!

Jaydee I absolutely love this! Love the tag on a card, all that white space, and I adore your curly twine! I'm ready for spring, too. The daylilies are trying to peek out from beneath the snow here, a very encouraging sign!

Hi Jaydee, I love this card! So beautiful!
I too am so ready for spring - the melt has started but it will take a bit longer than a week up here. I cannot wait for spring!

I almost used this same stamp set, Jaydee! Love how you've managed to use all the colors in such a lovely, elegant way and still have so much beautiful white space! You are the CAS master!!

I hope you have some warmer days soon. It is 70 in GA today. I am loving it! Back to rain though, tomorrow! Warm hugs, My Friend! XX

Beautiful! I don't know how to make a card with four colors so CAS! You are so talented!! And I am looking forward to a little snow melting myself. We are up to 40* today and may get into the 50's this week. I just told my husband to prepare for me opening some windows! He thinks I am crazy! LOL Enjoy your sun. I am definitely going to attempt to CASE this card and maybe I can become better at CAS cards.

your beautiful card nailed the colors perfectly. It's clean, simple and yet elegant.
Great card Jaydee.
I set my clocks ahead last night before going to bed and still waking up at the same time as usual. I'm an early riser so I have been up for a few hours already and even dried some mushrooms in the oven.
We're having a very light shower at the moment as if our yard wasn't wet and muddy enough from the ice and snow we have had.
