Happy Birthday for Paper Players #237
22 March 2015
Hi Everyone.
Happy Sunday. I am so behind on posts this week, but more about that later!
It's the fabulously talented LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great sketch for us.
I decided I would use the sketch to create some cards for the Cards for a Cause on splitcoaststampers this month. You can read more about that on my post here .
It was a great excuse to use some of the DSP and card stock - and colors - that I rarely use. (One of the resolutions for 2015 that I am managing to stick to!)
I pulled out the SU Birthday Bash DSP and realized it had gold foil elements in it and decided I could introduce the gold into the banners, too!
Here's my take on the sketch:
I love the bright, cheerful colors but needed just a little sumthin' sumthin' to finish it off. I rummaged in my bling drawer and remember that I had the SU In Color sequin assortment - the perfect finishing touch!
The design team have outdone themselves again this week. I hope you will check out their fabulous inspiration cards - and the join us this week.

On a personal note:
Well..... my MacBook died on me this week. It has had a problem for a while and it will reboot just for the heck of it. However, on Tuesday it decided that this wasn't annoying enough, so decided that it would stop my mouse from working, too! The mouse moved and you could hear an audible click, but no amount of clicking, pleading, swearing or threats of throwing it in the nearest lake made any difference. It sat there with a grin on it's silly little mug and would not do anything. I did all sorts of Mac specific reboots and restarts and it would tease me by working for a couple of minutes and then poof! Nothing. Zip. Nada. Donut.
Grrrrrr.... now, this wouldn't be so bad as I do have my iPad. BUT... all of my photos, photo editing software, etc. is on my MacBook. So all the projects I had made and photographed to put on my blog are trapped inside my MacBook and I can't update my blog posts on my iPad!
I couldn't get an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple store until yesterday afternoon. I sat down with the Genius and he looked through my logs - graphics adapter failure. My MacBook is in Mac-hospital for a week and the part is $500 to fix. That's a fairly pricey fix!!! However, the God's of computing must have been looking down on me yesterday, because my warranty was still valid until midnight last night! So, I get it fixed for free. Color me VERY happy about that. However, my MacBook won't be back until around Friday. So I can't load photos or anything on my blog until it comes back from the hospital.
Luckily, I had already loaded the photo for the Paper Players post onto the Paper Players site much earlier in the week. So, I was able to pull my photo from the PP site and loaded it into this blog post and use Lou's MacBook to create this post. Now you know the reason for no posts for much of last week, and why there will be very few posts this week, too!
We thought spring had arrived... and so did the Robin and the Red-shouldered blackbirds I saw this week! I was so happy to hear the cheerful call of the Red-shouldered blackbirds. Once I hear that sound, I know two things... Spring is just around the corner, as are about 1000 of the blackbirds friends!
Kris M.... if you are reading this, please could you click the "connect with me" option on the right hand side of my blog and send me your snail mail address so that I can send you your blog candy winnings!
The first day of Spring was also my Birthday and I would like to say a massive thank you to Colleen B, Jeanne, LeAnne and Sandy for my gorgeous birthday cards. They really warmed my heart. Thank you for remembering and thank you for taking the time to make me a card and send it my way! Love you all!
Well, I am off to do a little more organizing :-) I'll be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
