Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful color combo for us:
Once I saw these colors I realized they would be perfect for one of the new stamps that Lou bought for me on his recent trip to Australia and it is, as they say in local Australian vernacular... "a beaut"!
Some of you may remember seeing my Possum Posse card a couple of weeks ago - you can find it on my
Possum post. This stamp is from the same company - Stamp-It in Australia (they do ship internationally!) and it was a great image to color.
I began by stamping the image onto white cardstock and then coloring it. It took a little while to color, but was very relaxing and not too taxing primarily because I was going to cut around the frame, so going outside the lines a little wasn't a problem! Once the image was colored, I fussy cut around the outside - and the inside - of the frame.
As I was placing the frame onto a piece of Pistachio cardstock, I decided to cover the negative area of the frame with a piece of vellum to soften the background a little and help to separate the whole focal image from the card base.
I then die-cut the "hello" sentiment 3 times and adhered them together and finished off the sentiment by putting a layer of black Enamel Accents over the top and left it to dry.
I adhered the focal layer onto the card base with dimensional foam tape and adhered the sentiment over the top and I was ready to go.
Here's my card:
Isn't that a fabulous stamp??? I love it! I didn't color the possum as I didn't want to introduce another color :-) If you didn't catch my Possum post - you can check out this little guy below and, if you click on the photograph, it will take you to the National Geographic link that explains all about him.

The design team have created some gorgeous cards for your inspiration. I hope you will go and check them out and then come back and join our challenge this week.

On a personal note:
I was very late putting this post up as both Lou and I have the flu. Grrrrrr.... but I am not going to talk about it as I'm trying to ignore it! yeah... like that works! I wasn't up to stamping yesterday, but did manage to sit outside in the sun for a little while. I uncovered my lower legs and lou let out a little scream and said that I had scared off half the animals in the area. Why? Because my legs are so pale that I could put them against a Whisper White cardstock base and they would completely disappear! It's been a loooooooooong winter :-)
As the weather is sunny and beautiful today, I am hoping to get out and take some nature shots and also capture a couple of shots of green things growing!
I'm also hoping to get into my craft room so that I can make a couple of cards to share with you this week, but that all depends on how I feel! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee this is such a lovely card - the beautifully watercoloured frame and the fussy cutting look fabulous, as does the glossy sentiment.. As for the possum - ADORABLE or what?! I hope you and Lou are feeling better and continue to improve as the week progresses. Thanks for rocking my colour challenge this week!

What a great husband to bring you stamps all the way from down under! That little possum is soooo cute and so is your card. Love the open frame with vellum backing. Sorry you are down with the flu--hope you've got some good drugs and are on the mend! ((hugs))

Jaydee, I am LOL at your comment on your white legs! I just said something about that this week! "Abominable Snowman" is my exact words!
I do hope you and your hubby are feeling much better!!!!
Your card is fantastic. I love that adorable little possum peeking out! The touch of vellum is gorgeous on this beauty!
Take care of you! XXXX

Lou finds the most adorable stamps and what a cute card you made using the stamp.
Hope you both get to feeling better real soon.

So sorry to hear that both you and Lou have the flu. That is no fun at all. Although, I did laugh out loud at your comment about the comparison of your legs to Whisper White card stock. I feel the same way. Hee hee! Your card is too cute! I think it is wonderful that Lou brings you stamping goodies back from his trips. I’ve always wanted to travel to Australia. Hope you feel better really soon, my friend! :)
