Sunshine when skies are grey - for Addicted to CAS

Hi Everyone.

Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous Shana's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and she has a perfectly timed code word for us:

As it is the first challenge of the month, we have a wonderfully talented new Guest Designer playing along with us.  I hope you will check out Pia's blog - lots of great inspiration for you.

If you do play along with us, and you are lucky enough to be chosen as the winner, we have another fabulous prize for you.  The prize is 1 x stamp set and 1 x 6x6 paper pad of the winners choice!

I really wanted to use one of the new sets that I got from WPlus9 - Sunshine with matching dies - I thought the theme of sunshine was perfect for the challenge.

I started by die cutting the sunshine and the sun using Daffodil Delight cardstock from Stampin' Up! as well as a little bit of gold glimmer paper for the rays of the sun.  I placed everything on a piece of 110# Neenah Solar White card stock cut with my Lil Inker's Stitched Rectangle and I placed the whole focal layer onto a Stampin' Up! Soft Sky card base.  Of course, I couldn't not add a couple of grey raindrops - and the remainder of the sentiment and finished up the "sunshine" with my Wink of Stella pen for a little glimmer :-)

Here's my card:

Sunshine

You might notice that I popped the focal layer off the card base with a little fun foam.  I really love that it adds just a little dimension and yet stays in place through the post :-)

I hope you will pop along to our Addicted to CAS challenge website and check out the fabulous inspiration cards from the design team and then play along with us.  We would really love to see what you do with our challenge.

On a personal note:

Oh..... today was glorious... 50 degrees.  It started out with a snow storm!  yes... snow for the second time in 24 hours! but.... by lunchtime the sun was out, the snow was gone, and it was fabulous.  This weekend is due to get into the 60s and I cannot wait to sit outside and soak up the sun and replenish my Vitamin D.  I also hope to get some time in my craft room and play along with a view challenges.

I'll be back on Sunday with my Paper Player's card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight

Hugs
Jaydee

Beautiful creation of a card.
Seeing your card; I now have them lyrics stuck in my head of which I will probably be humming all day. :}
You are my Sunshine,
My only Sunshine.
You make me happy,
When Skies are grey.
You'll never know dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take,
My Sunshine away.

Beautiful Jaydee! Love the new dies! So perfect for this time of year with all the rain storms. We had a wonderful Saturday with 60's and sunshine. It was heaven after a week of rain! Hoping for some more today. ; ) I hope your Sunday is full of sunshine too!!
