What a difference two weeks make

Girlie thanks for Paper Players #245

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday.  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and before I start, I'd like to give a huge shout out to my dear team members Nance and Sandy who was kind enough to take over the challenge and load it to the main site for me because Lou and I got home so late last night.  Thanks, Nance and Sandy.  You are stars!

When I created this challenge, I thought about all the times our friends do things for us and how often I don't send them cards to say thank you, and thought it was about time to create a challenge to say thank you to all of our wonderful girlfriends.

I'm dedicating this card to all of my wonderful blog friends..... some of you have been with me almost from the beginning and some more recent..... but it is your support of my blog that keeps this blog going and I cannot thank you all enough.

So... to all of my wonderful blogging friends:

Ppgirlythanks (1 of 1)

Is a pink card girlie enough do you think? :-)  I began the card by creating the background.  I cut a stencil from the new Tim Holtz die and some masking sheet.  I placed the masking sheet on the card stock and used my distress inks and blending tool to create the soft background.   I really love the pattern that it created.

Then, I set to have some fun with the focal image.  I die cut a tag and stamped the flower image from Penny Black's Blooming Garden in Blushing Bride ink.  I wanted to create a watercolor look without the harsh lines that I have used with this set before.  The pink outlined image allowed me to see the elements of the stamps and use my Copic Markers to create a soft effect.  Once I had colored the image, I mounted it using fun foam to my base and assembled the card.  All that was left to do was to add the Stampin' Up! Baker's Twine and my card was basically complete.

The Players have created some fabulous inspiration cards for you, so I hope you will visit their blogs and then play along with us this week.  So, I challenge you to play along with us - create a card for that special girlfriend/mum/sister/daughter/niece/grandma, then remember to put it in the post and brighten her day!

On a personal note:

Lou and I got back very late last night from two wonderful weeks away.  It was an amazing trip and we saw some incredible sights and visited some very special places.  I'll share some details with you over the next week, but in the meantime, I need to go and unpack and get myself back into the swing of things!  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight - and a big girly thank you hugs to you all.

Jaydee
