It's all about the birds... for Addicted to CAS
09 May 2015
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulously talented Jan's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a code word that was right up my alley!
When I saw the codeword, I knew it was time to bring out one of the stamps that Lou bought me when he was Down Under in Australia. I absolutely love this Emu stamp... and it was such fun to color. I did have to extend the emu's neck with my Copic markers, but it was easy to do.
Here's my card:
You can see that I cut out a frame for him and mounted the frame over the focal image. I then used some sticky-backed linen for the sentiment. A couple of enamel dots and a black card base were all that I needed to finish off the card.
We have a great sponsor for our winner this week and there is a $20 gift certificate on offer :-)
We are also thrilled have have Monika (Monika's Blog) joining us at Guest Designer for May. You really should check out her fabulous blog and then don't forget to play along with us this week.
On a personal note:
Spring continues to spread her wings and I love this time of year.... it's warm but hasn't gotten humid yet... there are occasional cool mornings.... glorious!
Daphne continues to visit us and loves digging her long beak into the soft soil on the wetland. We watched her chase off some deer who wandered too close to her!
The Goldenrod Coneflowers are coming in..... we can't wait for them to flower
The only pop of color we have in the garden right now are the Prairie Smokes... they are such a soft pink and when the fully flower have a soft whispy extension from the center of the flowers.. which is why they are called "smoke" - they haven't quite reached that stage yet - they are still budding:
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
