Moon Lake for Paper Players #244
10 May 2015
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulously talented LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a stunning color combo for us:
Isn't that a fabulously serene color combo. I would never have put them together, but the minute I saw them I thought... WOW... I know exactly which set to use for this color scheme.
I knew the canoe image from Moon Lake would be perfect for these colors. It took a little while to get the right shading with just the three colors, but that's the wonderful thing about watercoloring, you can do more muted colors and then add shading and depth with the same color marker.
Here's my card:
I love the texture the watercolor paper gives and, of course, had to add a little shimmer and shine to the water with a touch of Wink of Stella pen
I am so pleased that Moon Lake has carried through to the new catalog and know that I will be using it often.
The players have some fabulous cards as inspiration for you, I hope you will check them out and then play along with us this week. We'd love to see what you create with this fabulous color scheme.

On a personal note:
I thought I'd share a couple of shots of our regular visitor.... we think this must be a female as she comes and goes very quietly. It seems that Niles and Daphne have not returned to our neck of the woods this year, but are quite happy to have one of the Crane's as a regular visitor.
I loved this photo... she's grooming and has created an almost whimsical heart shape with her body:
Aren't her feather colors beautiful? She really is so elegant.
I'll be back on Tuesday with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jayde

This is just gorgeous Jaydee - I would never have thought it possible to get such a beautifully watercoloured image with only three colours, so clever. I loved the feeling of texture that the background stamping on the frame too.

Such a serene and elegant card, Jaydee. The smidge of a black border was an excellent decision, and the background and stitching tie everything together perfectly.

Wow, Jaydee, the depth and dimension you created with just these three colors is amazing. Mad watercoloring skills, my friend! This image is perfect for the challenge and I love the water splatters you added to the card base. Just the perfect touch. Great card!

Beautiful card. Like the way you made the water sparkle.
Such wonderful coloring.
Enjoy your day and have a great evening
Has been pouring down rain all night and think it will keep it up all day along with the severe thunderstorms. Rain in the forecast for all week. No work getting done this week outside. Have had so much rain that it has no where to go. The ditches are full and water running across the roads
