Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I saw this great sketch across at casethissketch and knew immediately that I wanted to have some fun with watercolors. Here's the sketch: I had to turn the sketch on the horizontal to make it work for me. I needed an anniversary card and the sentiment layout that I had in mind worked better with the sketch on the horizontal I started with some watercolor paper and inked up some of the leaves from the new SU set - Vintage Leaves. I used white embossing powder for the leaves as I wanted a subtle, soft look.... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. I hope you all had a great weekend. I did! I got to spend some time in my craft room - and in my garden. That has to be a good weekend, right? :-) One of the challenges I played along with was this great sketch from Just-Add-Ink When I saw the sketch I immediately thought it would work with my new Simon Says Stamp July card kit. I love the papers and elements in this kit and, as Lou and I love to cruise, this seemed an ideal set:-) Here's my card: To add a... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulously talented Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a really versatile sketch for us. Here's the inspiration photo: Well.... if that doesn't make you feel relaxed, I don't know what does :-) I saw this photo and knew that I wanted to have some fun with distress inks, blending and the Simon Says Stamp June card kit. I began with a piece of card stock that had been run through my Big Shot with my Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles. Can I make a card without using these????! I then masked it to... Read more →

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. It's not often I get to combine challenges, but I saw this theme challenge from AAA cards and this sketch from casethissketch I also used the colours from the colourthrowdown challenge, but unfortunately was too late to enter that challenge! I love using embossing pastes and find that I don't do it enough, so this challenge was a great excuse to bring out my embossing pastes. Luckily, I had a new stencil from the Stampin' Up! Happy Patterns Decorative Masks and knew that I could use a couple of the different masks for the sketch. To... Read more →
