Fine Feathers for Paper Players #249

By the Tide meets From Land to Sea for Fusion

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

Oh.... it's Friday!  YAY! :-)  That means I get to spend some time in my craft room and I did that late this afternoon.

I used the Fusion challenge - both the photo and the sketch - for my card tonight.  I saw the inspiration photo and knew that I could combine two of my new stamp sets to create this card. Here's the challenge:

I began by creating a card base with some of the new corrugated paper from the 2015/2016 Stampin' Up! catalog and I have to tell you... this is awesome for card bases... I am in love with it!   I love the texture and the weight!    Once I had the card base sorted out... I was then able to combine the By the Tide and From Land to Sea sets to create a nautical inspired focal point.

Here's my card:

Lighthouse (1 of 1)

I dug around in my stash and found a cardboard star - it was the perfect element to match the sketch and I colored it with my copic markers.

I hope you will check out the FusionCardChallenge site and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards.

On a personal note:

Thank you to all of you who left wishes of hugs and prayers for me over the last two days.  You have absolutely no idea how much they meant to me.  They really did warm my heart.  So, thank you to Nancy, Jeanne, Colleen, Linda, Joan, Sandy, Jen and Shannon.  Bailey also thanks you :-)  I am happy to report that he is feeling so much better.  His tongue is still very pink and he has no taste buds on that area of his tongue... but it looks considerably better and he is almost back to himself!

I managed to get out onto the deck and into the garden today to take some photos and I will share those with you over the next couple of days.   I'll be back tomorrow with another project.   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Wonderful sketch and layout.

What a beautiful nautical card and that corrugated paper looks awesome and really makes for a great card base. (would make for a great Father's Day Card)

Good to hear that Bailey is doing better.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

Wishing you and Lou a wonderful and enjoyable weekend.

I'm so glad you hear that your Bailey is doing better. It can be very stressful when our beloved pets are ill & they can't tell us what is wrong! I hope you are taking car too. I love your posts about your wetlands & seeing all the birds and animals you "give" to there.

Your cards are very inspirational too~love them all. Hope you have a good weekend! Beth

Just have to comment on this excellent masculine card. Love the corrugated paper and perfect for masculine card with just the right texture. No bling and ribbon needed because the texture of the paper provides just the right amount. Definitely need to get this By The Tide stamp set. It goes well with the texture paper. Thanks Jaydee for the inspiration.

Thank goodness Bailey is better. What a scare.

This is a great card, Jaydee. That corrugated paper is perfect. I'm going to have to break down and get some of it plus those two stamp sets. How fortuitous to find that star.
