Hello You for Paper Players #251
Vintage Leaves for CASE this sketch

Sail Away with me for Just Add Ink

Hi Everyone.

Happy Monday.  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I did!  I got to spend some time in my craft room - and in my garden.  That has to be a good weekend, right? :-)

One of the challenges I played along with was this great sketch from Just-Add-Ink

When I saw the sketch I immediately thought it would work with my new Simon Says Stamp July card kit.   I love the papers and elements in this kit and, as Lou and I love to cruise, this seemed an ideal set:-)

Here's my card:

Sail Away

To add a little more interest and texture to the image, I went over the lifesaver with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and then added a thick layer of Crystal Accents onto it and left it to dry.   Once it was dry, I assembled the card and created the envelope.

Here's the envelope:

Such a fun card kit and such a fun challenge!  I hope you will pop along to Just Add Ink and check out the design team and submission cards because there is some fabulous inspiration for you.

On a personal note:

I love this time of year.   The flowers are finally starting to bloom (albeit slowly) and the baby birds are starting to make an appearance.

Our jelly/orange feeder has proven to be a central gathering point for so many birds this year and I have had the pleasure of watching the red bellied woodpecker feed his two babies.   In fact, I didn't realise there were two of them and it seemed very strange that one minute the baby was on the deck railing begging for food and the next time I saw him he was eating well on his own!  Well, it wasn't until this afternoon that I saw the two babies together and yes, one is feeding itself (most of the time), but the other really relies on parents to do that.

Here's a photo of the two babies together.   I'm sorry about the quality of the photos, but I am taking them through the window and through the thick mosquito screening, so it's pretty tough to get a crystal clear photo.  On top of that we had a massive rainstorm and the windows have spots on them!

And here's a photo of the parent feeding the baby.   In case you are wondering what they are eating... it's not the jelly, it's the orange!

And on that note, I need to go feed my feline babies!   I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Love your card. What a great sketch to work from. I like how the life preserver echos the white circle. The wink of stella and crystal accents really put the finishing touch on the card.
