Sailing for Paper Players #255
26 July 2015
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the awesome Sandy's turn to host our Paper Player challenge this week and she has a great sketch. In fact, I loved this sketch that I made several cards using a variation of it.
Here's Sandy's sketch:
I decided I wanted to use the Simon Says Stamp July card kit Sailing for my card. This set really struck a chord with me because Lou and I love to sail - well, cruise really! I love sailing, but Lou and I cruise :-)
Here's my card:
I stamped the ocean onto Whisper White card stock and then used my craft knife to cut into the waves so that I could slip the hull of the boat into the waves.
Here's a closeup and, of course, I had to add some Wink of Stella to the ocean and the hull to add a little glimmer and shine :-)
I popped the hull and the sails of the yacht with dimensionals and used some hemp twine to create a Carrick Bend knot. It's such a beautiful knot :-)
I hope that you will play along with us this week. If you are looking for some inspiration, check out the fabulous designs from our design team:
On a personal note:
It was my final transition week and it was a long week! On Thursday I started work at 6.30 a.m and didn't walk away from my desk until 8.15 p.m. It did mean that I was able to spend some time in my craft room today and I had such fun creating cards for our card drive. I never make kids cards .... well, only for our card drives... and it was wonderful being able to create some again! I can't wait to share some of the cards with you.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you that need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
