Hi Everyone
stopping in with a quick post for you tonight. Here's another card I made this weekend to kick off our 2015 Cards for a Cause card drive.
If you missed last night's post introducing our two charities - you can click this link and find more detail. In case you can't get to the link for any reason - we are supporting two charities this year. Cards for hospitalized kids and the other charity is Card Care Connection.
Thursday night's post will have details on finish dates and blog candy that is on offer for helping to create cards for these great organizations.
In the meantime, here's a little more inspiration.... I saw this great sketch across at Fab Fridays
I also used a color scheme from Color Me, but I am much too late to enter that challenge :-) However, I fell in love with the colors: Marina Mist, Bermuda Bay and white. Here's my take on the two challenges.....
Oh, I had such fun creating this card! I used a Tim Holtz stencil - Faded Dots - and some Ranger embossing paste to create the background. Whilst I was waiting for the embossing paste to dry, I stamped several of the Watercolor Wings elements in Bermuda Bay and Marina Mist to create the butterfly. Stamping it onto vellum added a lightness and a feeling of whimsy that I thought was perfect with the background.
I do hope this card will bring a smile to the recipient!
So, check back tomorrow for full details on the card drive. In the meantime, I'll leave you with this image....... I cannot tell you how rare it is to see one of these guys. VERY, VERY rare. Gone are the days when we see swarms of them flying around. This little guy is the one and only we have seen this year. He/She had been hanging around on our milkweed at the front of the house. Today I saw him/her on the Swamp Milkweed at the back of the house. I coudn't get a photo of him there... but did manage to capture this
It felt really strange taking this photograph through the window as he hung onto the fly screen, but there is something very interesting from a design perspective :-)
I caught a shot of this guy raiding the bulrush feeders, too! Normally I chase off the squirrels... but this guy gets a let because, we don't see the fox squirrels that often :-)
From this shot you can also see that our cone flowers are in full flower. They are looking fabulous and I promise to share some shots of just how good they are looking later this week.
I'll be back with more details of the card drive tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

So pretty! I especially love how you tied the silver around the butterfly. I've never thought of doing that, but now I will. Thanks for the inspiration!

The embossing paste creates such a neat background for your lovely butterfly! I love the CAS design! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

Hi Jaydee! Oh I love your butterfly card!! The colors are beautiful and the softness of the vellum looks so pretty. The background is really cool too!
What a wonderful picture of this monarch butterfly! I'm always on the lookout for them but you're right, it's rare. How exciting for you!
I have a feeling your fox squirrel will be back, ha ha! I think our squirrels consume over half of our birdseed. I don't chase them off but my black lab sure does!
Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
