Flip Flop Season for Happy Little Stampers

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday. 

It's a quick post for you tonight ... It's almost 10 and I've just finished doing all that I needed to do today :-)

I saw this great sketch across at Happy Little Stampers- it's a sketch that really takes me out of my comfort zone - and that's a good thing :-)

Here's the sketch:

When I saw the sketch I wasn't quite sure what to use .... then... I realized I had the new Simon Says Stamp August card kit on my craft desk and it had just the right stamp for the sketch!

I stamped the flip flops multiple time on a couple of different DSPs and fussy cut them.  I then used my gel rooler pens to add some glimmer and shine to the flip flops.  A few touches from my Copic markers also added a little shading and depth.

I added some metallic thread to the card and then attached my flip flops by glueing down the bottom flip flop and popping the top one.  Of course, the flip flops weren't quite finished ... so I grabbed some candy dots from SU and added those to each of the flip flops.  Now.. they were finished :-)

Here's my card:

I added some of the shimmer card stock in the card kit as my base.  The shimmery finish on the base echoes the shimmer on the thong of the flip flops.

I'm sure I've had the top flip-flops (the blue ones on the top line)! But yours are so much cuter than mine were in size 11 (US). Nothing looks cute in my shoe size. But your card is adorable. I always love your cards, and the updates from your wetlands.
