2015 Jaydee Cards for a Cause Inspiration
21 September 2015
Hi Everyone.
Wanted to pop by and share a couple of masculine kiddie cards I created for the current card drive. We are coming close to the date that cards have to be at my house, so wanted to remind you to send me an email and let me know that you will be sending cards. I know several of you said you would be participating and I am looking forward to seeing your cards and then processing them to send them off to our fabulous charities this year.
Just in case you missed it :-) Here's the link to the card drive info. Don't forget that there are stamping goodies as prizes for some of you who participate! We are creating for: Cards for Hospitalized Kids and Card Care Connection. Two really worth-while causes.
Here's a little inspiration for you:
Using Stampin' Up!'s No Bones stamp set I created this card with a black, white and gold theme.
I then created the next card with a Penny Black stamp that I bought just to make cards for this drive:
I created extra texture by stamping the image onto watercolor paper and using my watercolor pens and inks. I then fussy cut around the main image and pasted it onto the card base. I added a little more texture by inking up my Stampin' Up! Well Worn background stamp and used it behind the image just in the center of the card.
Here's another card that I made using the same Sunny Hello set - but with a different image. This card is interactive, as the tag can be pulled out. I had such fun coloring this image and used a basket weave embossing folder to add a little more texture.
I'll be back with some more inspiration tomorrow - this time with Christmas cards!
On a personal note:
I shared a photo of the beach at Nairn, Scotland last night - and wanted to share some photos we took whilst driving around Loch Ness. Now... I have to admit this was one of the biggest surprises of the trip. I'd expected Loch Ness to be covered with gift shops and cafes and all that sort of thing. What a surprise when we found that almost all of the Loch is preserved space and is beautifully treed and the banks full of thick dense shrubbery. There were only a couple of places around the Loch that you could stop and take photos or have a picnic. The spots were small and intimate and beautiful. Absolutely not at all what we had expected.
This shot was taken on one of the few places we could stop. There was parking for just a couple of cars along the side of the road and a path that led down to this little stretch of beach. You can see from the color of the sky that the weather was wonderful whilst we were in Scotland!
I loved this shot across the lake - you can see the purple heather on the hills in the background. The heather was just coming into season and wasn't yet at it's peak.
Coming back up the path from the little picnic beach, I noticed this really pretty little plant and couldn't go without taking a photo
Scotland was everything I was told it would be - and more. It was so much more lush and treed than I had expected and the highlands are stunning. I can highly recommend Sotland as a destination!
I'll be back tomorrow with some more card inspiration for the card drive - as well as some more photos of our trip.
In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
