Autumn Hills for Paper Players #263 and 2015 card drive reminder
20 September 2015
Hi Everyone.
It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a clean and simple theme for us.
Now... clean and simple is easy for me, but creating "scenes" is not. Some people really have the knack of it - just check out the PP inspiration cards as an example! - sadly, I just don't seem to have the knack. However, this old set from Papertrey Ink had a ready created scene for me! All I need to do was stamp it and get out my Copic Markers.
The background felt just a little too clean a backdrop for the CAS image, so I took out my Tim Holtz woodgrain stencil and some Tip Top Taupe ink to create texture and interest on the background.
Here's my card:
I hope you will check out the fabulous cards from our design team - and then pop back along to the Paper Players blog and play along with Laurie's challenge this week.
On a personal note:
Well this week turned out to be much busier than I had anticipated. Going on vacation for two weeks when you are only a couple of weeks into the job was tricky and it really meant putting in some major hours this last week to catch up. Most days started around 6-6.30 a.m. and finished around 7-7.30 p.m. By the end of the day, it was all I could do to make dinner, feed the cats and do the necessary chores!
I also didn't even get the chance to make my PP card until this morning - and I am generally never late for my challenges! So, it was a rush downstairs this morning to make a card and, I am hoping to spend a little more time in there today making cards for the card drive.
Talking of the card drive - we are down to the final couple of weeks of the card drive. So far I have received one set of fabulous cards and am looking forward to receiving more from you.
If you need a reminder of the card drive challenge - check out this post.
Cards are due to me by October 3rd. Maria has a little extension as they are coming from Africa!
I do hope that you will be able to participate. Remember - it doesn't matter the number of cards - each one makes a difference. These are two great causes and I really hope you will help.
If you have any questions, just sent me an email.
Before I go I wanted to share a photograph that I took when we were walking along the boardwalk in Nairn, Scotland. What a gorgeous little place this is. Fabulous sand beaches, but also amazing rock formations along one end of the beach. I was staring at the rock formations when this guy wandered into view
Curlew's are amazing birds and I haven't seen one in many, many years. So, it was delightful to see him and spend a little time watching him patrol his stretch of beach. The curlew uses that long bill to seek out crabs and shrimp that live way below the sand.
I'll be back tomorrow with another project for you. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
