Hi Everyone.
Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great color challenge for us:
I really loved the subtle tones when I pulled the colors together. I decided that I would use one of the new Rubbernecker stamps that I bought at a recent craft fair. This stamp is called Field of Poppies and I paired it with some Colorburst Watercolor powders that I bought at the same fair. I love these watercolor powders as they are such vibrant colors and worked beautifully with the So Saffron and Tangelo Twist colors in Joanne's challenge. Then, I had to incorporate the Lost Lagoon. I decided to do that with the sky background. I used my watercolor brush pen and some Lost Lagoon ink and it worked really well as the sky.
Here's my card:
The vocal image was stamped and painted on Fluid Heatpressed watercolor paper - I love the heatpressed for the smooth finish it gives and it is perfect for these more CAS images as there are fewer "hills and valleys" in the paper.
To finish off the card, I used some old So Saffron DSP from SU. I liked the soft polka dots and thought they were a nice backdrop to those fabulous flowers.
As usual, the Paper Players design team have created some fabulous cards to act as inspiration for you. Sadly, Ann Schach has stepped down from the Paper Players team to concentrate on other parts of her life. Ann was an one of the initial members of our Paper Players team and her amazing style and dedication to our team will be greatly missed - but we wish her well as she focuses on other parts of her life.
On a personal note:
As much as I like traveling, it is wonderful to get back to our own bed, our kitties and our wetland view. It's amazing how much can change in just a couple of weeks.
I wanted to share a couple of photos that I took just before we left. Two years ago we planted multiple flowers and grasses leading up to the front door and in front of the patio. It's amazing how they came into their own this year. They really just blossomed and it is wonderful to see the birds and insects that are drawn to them. We have had multiple finches sitting on the delicate grasses and eating the seeds and we now that the Echinacea provide seeds throughout winter for our goldfinches and others that over-winter with us.
They flowers and grasses not only provide food for our feathered friends, they also provide us with a wealth of color and texture to enjoy.
This is the first year that the Goldstrums have really come into their own and they looked magnificient.
This photo shows you how high the flowers are this year. Some of them are even higher than the porch!
Well, that's all for tonight. I'll be back later in the week with some cards that I have made for our card drive. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee this stamp set is one on my wish list, and you've just bumped it up a notch. How beautifully you colored the blossoms. I've never heard of watercolor powders but I'll have to go check that out now. Your garden looks great, too. Northeast is had a drought this summer and everything is so parched. Regardless, enjoying the warm weather as long as we can!

A beautiful card - I'm inspired. I just received some watercolor powders I ordered and can't wait to try them.
The landscaping is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. We need more people like you to use native plantings. I enjoy seeing the pictures of the wildlife you attract.
