Birthday Sketch for As You See It

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday

I have a card for you tonight that was inspired by the fabulous colors from As You See It.

AYSIChallenge109

Aren't those colors great?  I loved the touch of Lost Lagoon with the Pumpkin!  Before I show you the card I made for the challenge, I wanted to say a huge thank you to the As You See It Challenge team for choosing my fairy card from last week as their featured card.   I'm always thrilled - and surprised - to have a card chosen by a challenge team and this time was no exception.  It was my honor to create a card for Lola - and I thank the team for inspiring me to create some fairy cards for our card drive!

So.. on to the card this week.  This one is going into another box of cards for Card Care Connection and I decided to make a birthday card with these colors.

I created my own "splash" by mixing the inks with water and used my paint brush to get the background splatters.

I then stamped the balloons from the Fun Stampers Journey "Birthday Sketch" and colored the balloons to match the background splatters.

I mounted the balloons and the splatter background onto a Recollections #110 card base and stamped the sentiment in Lost Lagoon.   Of course, I had to...... you knew I was going to... I added some Wink of Stella to the balloons..... some twine (also from Fun Stampers Journey) and my card was ready.

Here's the card I made:

Actually, I loved these colors so much that I decided to make two cards - but will share that one with you tomorrow!

I hope you will pop along to the As You See It Challenge site and play along this week.

On a personal note:

Work continues to be really busy.  6.30 calls seem to be more frequent than normal and I find myself generally getting away from my desk about 12 hours later.  So, I am really looking forward to the weekend and am hoping to get at least 1 day without work so that I can concentrate on other things - and maybe even get to some crafting!

I did manage to get onto the deck before the snow arrived... yes.. .you heard me SNOW!!!!!   Our maples have turned the most gorgeous shade of red.  Our River Birch are a wonderful shade of yellow and our Oaks are a gorgeous bronze.  That little corner of our garden certainly looks fabulous.  We are SO pleased we planted these trees and chose such tall trees!

Don't they look awesome... especially with the brown grasses that have turned to seed.  The grasses have attracted an immense amount of seed loving birds this year.  It's wonderful that the environment we have worked so hard to create is doing its job :-)

Oh.... I thought I'd share this pic with you, too.   These girls were NOT happy about me checking them out from the deck:

I'll be back tomorrow with my other card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  Rosemarie, big hugs for you - take care of yourself!

Hugs

Jaydee
