Hi Everyone, Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful theme for us:
I don't often make Halloween cards, but I saw this fabulous owl called Fright Night and paired it with a background stamp called Widows Web - both available from Fun Stampers Journey.
I began with a black base and stamped the cobweb in gold ink. Whilst that was drying, I stamped the owl onto x-press it card stock and set about coloring him with copic markers. I really wanted his eyes to stand out and used a mixture of reds and yellows and black to make them pop. I colored the body with greys and then added some streaks to the paler patches with a uniball white marker.
I needed to create a Harvest Moon. I began with a yellow base and added orange distress inks with an ink blender. It took on a great color, but I decided to add some Wink of Stella glitter over the moon to add more shine. I then colored in the branch, fussy cut around the own and then popped him off the cobweb base using dimensionals.
I then stamped the sentiment in gold ink and added some dimensional embossing powder and heat set.
Here's my card:
Isn't he fabulous? I absolutely love him. I know the card stock base doesn't look black, but it really is. The sun was setting as I took this photograph and it really made the card stock look a really dark brown.
I hope you will join us and, if you are looking for some inspiration, don't forget to check out the cards from our design team

Wow - those sparkly cobwebs look like the real thing and as for the owl - he looks like he means business! I wouldn't want to come across him on a dark night. A great card for my Halloween challenge Jaydee!
