Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit inspiration

Here's Looking at You - Share Handmade Kindness

Hi Everyone.  Happy Tuesday.

Well, I promised to share with you some cards made with the Simon Says Stamp October card kit.  As I said, I made over 10 cards with this kit on Saturday and then made another one last night.  I had made all the other cards for our next card drive, but was inspired to create this one when I saw the new Kindness challenge across at Jennifer McGuire's new blog.  Now... I've been stamping and crafting for 10 years, but only recently found Jennifer's talents - how I missed them I am not sure... but I must have been living under some sort of rock :-)

Anyway, Jennifer is amazingly talented and very generous, so I was not at all surprised to see that she had changed up her blog and was creating a challenge to share some handmade love.  She is having regular challenges to encourage us all to actually send the handmade goodies that we make.  The challenge this week is to create and send a card to friends or family.  I decided it was time to create and send a card - well send virtually as he is away in Asia :-)   Lou is not at all fond of pink - but hopefully he will overcome that:-)

I started by stamping the heart from the Here's Looking at You stamp set with Versamark and heat embossed it with fine gold embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I then took my Zig Brush markers and used 3 different shades of pink to give me a gorgeous ombre effect on the heart.  I had originally stamped it onto normal pink card stock... but it was so flat compared to the watercolored version.

I added the DSP, stamped the sentiment - also in gold embossing powder, popped the heart up with some dimensional tape - and voila.   A card for Lou - virtual for tonight.  Sweetie, I hope your presentation went really well today.  Your card will be waiting for you when you get home.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards made with the kit.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Beautiful Jaydee! The ombre heart is really gorgeous! I really like what Jennifer has initiated. Such a simple little thing to brighten the day of someone is almost a lost art in the age of crazy busy. I hope to join in this month. ; )

I love this card. The shade of pink is so pretty and has just the right touch of hearts on it.

Hey Gorgeous, Thank you so much for the card...it made my day it really did. Love the detail on the heart and layering of "PINK" and yeah I do need to get over the fact that Im not crazy about Pink cards...but hey it looks red when I look at it on my Mac....if that helps.
Yes the day went very well (thank you for asking) and yes I do love and miss you too.
I really look forward to getting my card when I get home. (Date night Saturday night)
Love you and talk to you later.
