Sending a hug for Tag You're It and the Kindness Challenge
18 November 2015
Hi Everyone,
just a quick post today. I wanted to share a card with you and also talk about out what was a very eventful day for Lou and I yesterday.
Firstly, TagYoureIt had a great challenge this week.
I was drawn to the idea of the branch - and the colors - but went in a different direction for the sentiment. I wanted to join in the Kindness Challenge across at Jennifer McGuire's blog and create a card for a child. So, this card will be going in the next batch to Cards for Hospitalized Kids.
I die cut the bird, branch and leaves and then went to work with my distress inks and markers to add shading and color to the top of the birds head, his tail, his back and his breast. I also did the same on the leaves. I also shaded the entire background of the tag with my distress inks to make him look as though he was against the sky. I assembled the tag and then mounted it on fun foam at the back to give it a little dimension.
Here's my card:
On a personal note:
Well, it was a rather momentous day for Lou and I yesterday. A day that has been many years in the making.
Lou and I joined 424 other people - from 67 different countries - and pledged our Oath of Allegiance yesterday. Standing and singing the Star Spangled Banner - our new National Anthem - was a very emotional moment - one that we will never forget.
Of course, I had to take a photograph of the flag that we had been given to hold as we pledged allegiance to the flag :-)
What a day!
I'll be back with another project tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers to all those who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
