Flower Layers for Paper Players #275

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our final Paper Players challenge of the year and she has a great color challenge for us:

Now, when I started out creating my card I was determined NOT to create a Christmas card so that I could show you how versatile these colors are.  However, once I stamped my flowers, I realized they would make a fabulous poinsettia flower if I layered the Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler together.  So, that's exactly what I did :-)

I stamped two of the flowers with Cherry Cobbler and then stamped the larger of the flowers with Mossy Meadow and layered them using foam tape.  But... I needed a frame and remembered that I had the perfect frame..... my Freehand Border from Rubbernecker stamps.   I inked up half of the border with Cherry Cobbler and the other half with the Mossy Meadow and stamped it on to a piece of Very Vanilla.

Once I stamped the frame, I glued the bottom of the flower into the corner and stamped the sentiment from SSS Gifts of Love. I added a single yellow enamel dot and the card was finished.

Here's my card:

Isn't that flower fabulous?   Want to see how much dimension it has?

As this is our final challenge of the year, it is also time to say goodbye to our guest designers.  Amy, Jodi and Lisa we are really going to miss you.  You have been an amazing trio of guest designers and I will miss crafting with you every week.  I hope you will check out their final PP cards and leave them a little stamping love.

On a personal note:

I hope to get the time to finish off the Christmas decorations around the house tomorrow.  Mind you, the fact that it has been back in the 40s again this week doesn't make it feel in the least like Christmas!  Our 8" of snow is almost gone and I even managed to sit outside in the screened in porch today.  Seriouly.... in the middle of December?!!!  Something isn't quite right in Minnesota, I can tell you :-)

I hope to get a little more time in my crafting room tomorrow, too and, if I do, then I will have some cards to share with you this week.

In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
Jaydee

I LOVE the dimension on the poinsettia! So pretty. I am wondering what you would have come up in these colors that is not Christmas...would have been fun to see. You are so creative! Merry Christmas Jaydee!

I love your beautiful flower, but that frame is what caught my eye, believe it or not! I love how you stamped it in two colors....just the perfect little touch to highlight your poinsettia! And yes, it's too warm to feel Christmas-y here in PA, too!

Yes, your flower is fabulous. Love all the layers and the frame just sets it off.
It was 75 yesterday here in VA. Not Christmas weather but by the weekend it will be in the 40's so.. come on Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and Lou.

I love all of your Christmas cards. You show us that something simple can be so elegant and we don't have to "over fuss" a card. Thank-you for sharing and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I'm glad you decided to go with a Christmas card Jaydee - the layered flower is beautiful and I adore the doodled border and block font of your sentiment. Gorgeous!
