Birthday Blooms for Addicted to CAS #81

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulously talented Bhavana's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a wonderful challenge for us - it was a perfect code word to make me thing of spring and stop me thinking about the 12" of snow we had earlier this week!

We have a new guest designer joining us and I hope you will visit her fabulous blog and check out her creations.  You can find her at this link Elena Voronina.

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Eureka Stamps and we have 3 free digis on offer!

I really wanted to let the flowers be the featured item on my card and remembered I had some Rubbernecker floral stamps that are just beautiful and they are perfect for watercoloring.

I started by stamping the flowers with Archival Ink onto Arches Watercolor paper.   Oh... this is gorgeous paper for watercoloring as it doesn't pill and really lets the colors blend beautifully :-)

Once the ink was dry - I waited a couple of minutes to make sure... I then got out my watercolors and colored in the flowers.   I waited for the colors to dry and then went back in with a pale blue wash for the background.

Once the background was dry, I used some Martha Stewart heart sequins around the flowers - applied with Matte Medium and added my sentiment.

I love the way it turned out and think that the pale blue watercolor wash background really helps to make the flowers pop.

I hope you will join us this week and if you are looking for some inspiration - just check out the fabulous creations of our design team.

On a personal note:

Well... I can honestly say it is wonderful to be home.  It was a very busy week as I was on an education course and we had long hours - and homework - but the team running the class really tried very hard to keep the energy high and have some fun along with the hard work.  It also gave me an opportunity to meet with people that I have worked with virtually for a number of years, but never actually met.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
