Up, Up and Away for Paper Players

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a very creative challenge for us:

Well... there are SO many places you can go with this challenge, but I decided to go with  a literal interpretation of the photo.  And, isn't that photo so adorable?
I used some DSP from an old Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit.  It just seemed perfect for this challenge.  This year I really have been trying to use up my old materials - and that includes DSP that is sitting in my stash - some of it has been there for ... errr.... let's just say... longer than a year!
Here is my card:
Upandaway (1 of 1)
Of course, I had to use one of my stitched tag dies to highlight the balloon DSP and a sentiment.
I hope you will join us this week. If you are looking for some inspiration, check out the fabulous cards from our design team:

On a personal note:

Want to see a photo of my favorite winter bird - before all the snow disappears?  Sure you do!

Cardinal (1 of 1)-3

Isn't he beautiful?  I love how soft his chest feathers are!  He really is just gorgeous.  I love watching he and his mate fly between the feeder and the trees.  He's gorgeous in summer .. but in winter he adds a fabulous touch of color in a world of white!

I'll be back with another card on Tuesday.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hi Marina - I've fixed it :-) Thanks for letting me know that it wasn't working

Kelly.... I'm traveling on business this week and can't check which die I used. Once I get back, I will do that and will update this page and will also send you the info in an email.

Crocus.... oh.... now you KNOW spring is on the way. How awesome. Are you going to share it with us? And you are right about the Blue Jay... I don't often take photos of them because... well... they are just there... but I should. The first American bird I ever saw was a Blue Jay and I was fascinated, he was hanging around outside my hotel room and I was in awe of his color. The flicker... Sadly... we don't get them here - I'm not sure why!

Love your card, but really love the Cardinal picture!

Your card is lovely . . . as all the girls have said it . . . the pastel colors are beautiful. Please, I cannot reach Leanne by clicking in the list . . . what am I doing wrong?

So soft and pretty Jaydee! I too love the pastels mixed with gray. Can you tell me what brand of stitched tag die you've used here please? I like the smaller size piercing.

Mr. Cardinal is gorgeous! He looks gorgeous with the pile of snow. I have 5-6 pairs that like to feed here and they make me so happy. Every once in a while, I get a to see a Blue Jay or Northern Flicker and those are striking in the midst of winter too.

I took a photo of my first crocus flower bloom this morning! Spring is coming for certain. ; )

Love those soft pastels and delicately patterned balloons Jaydee - and all the better for being dsp, I thought you'd been busy stencilling when I first saw your card! Way to rock my CAS challenge - oh and the bird is cute too!

Hmm sounds like you and I are on the same page, Jaydee. Trying to use up supplies from last year's Simon kits! This kit was one of my favorites. I love the colors, and love the awesome sentiment you used. Have a great day :)

I love those soft pastels, too! And the stitches, and the bow..and.... I just like it ALL! Awesome card for the challenge. Have a fun Sunday Jaydee!
