Birthday Stencil for AAA Cards and London Blog Candy Winner
30 March 2016
Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday
I am sorry that I haven't posted the last couple of days, but I have been really tied up at work... well, not literally, but I think you all know what I mean :-)
I got the chance to play along with this great theme across at AAA Cards this week
Now, those of you who follow my blog regularly will know that I cannot walk away from a stencil challenge :-) For this card I decided to go with a literal translation of the challenge as I have a great number stencil!
I used my Ranger and Heidi Swapp spray inks. The reason I love them for this card is for their shimmer qualities. Lou's reaction when he saw this card was: "well, you are never going to capture this in a photograph!" He's right, too. When you look at it straight on... it's a gorgeous shade of dark teal, when you turn it slightly - most of it is gold.... I just wish you could really see it in hand to get the fabulousness of the shimmer :-)
Here's a view from one side:
Then... from another angle:
Guess you would like to see the whole card ? :-)
I die-cut the "birthday" from Papertrey Ink's Wonderful Words - Birthday several times from Island Indigo card stock and mounted them on top of each other. I tied that to the base of the card, which is made from the same color card stock.
I hope you will pop along to AAA cards and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards - some great inspiration there for you.
On a personal note:
Well... I loved hearing about what you enjoyed - or would like to enjoy - about London. The random winner of the Tim Holtz London stamp set is:
Tracy who said:
My grandfather was from England and I've always wanted to go there. What I love about London is all of the architecture: the cathedrals, Big Ben, etc. And, of course, the Royal Family!!
I love all of your photos of the wildlife!! Especially the birds!! You also are a talented card mamer! I read your blog all the time!
Tracy... please send me your snail mail address and I will package up and send off your Tim Holtz London set.However... I couldn't resist Ann's comment.... Ann, if you share with us WHO in your ancestor you have buried at Westminster Abbey... I will forward on a special last birthday candy for you.
A big thanks to all of you who played along with my Blog Candy week. All the winners goodies will be winging their way to our deserving winners tomorrow!
For those of you who visit my blog for more than just cards.... here's a wildlife shot for you:
This guy.... really didn't like me taking photos of him... but he's so handsome!
I'll be back on Friday with another card - and an awesome wildlife shot! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Great card and I loved the picture of the deer. I always love your nature shots. also the pictures of your cats. It's six months since we lost our kitty Boots and we still miss him. Take care.

Such a lovely card and I also like that stenciled background.
Great phot of the dear as well.
Congratulations to Tracy on the win.
This last wave of storms we had done minor damage this time around. Had hail along with some strong winds and it kinda destroyed one of my white arbors so I do consider that minor. All and all it could had been much worse so feel blessed that it wasn't more serious.
Having our roofer guy coming out tomorrow to check on our roof to see if the hail done any serious damage. We just had a reroofing job done in Dec. on the house and 3 sheds so not looking forward if it has to be all redone.
Have a wonderful day, great evening and an enjoyable weekend.

I love your card! And thank you for the shout out. My ancestor is William Sternsdale Bennett. Don't you just love that name?? I believe he is my uncle. How many greats, I do not know. 😊

What a cute card! You are right the shimmer in the card is something beautiful. We interpreted the stencil sketch similarly, great minds think alike (although fools seldom differ my dad says, lol).TFS in case you want to see my take on the sketch.... http://creative-jill.blogspot.ca/
