It's Spring for Paper Players #287

Delicate Butterflies for Addicted to CAS

 Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

It's the fabulous Sweet Kobylkin's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and she has a great code word for us:

There are so many places you can go with this word and my mind immediately went to lace, but then it turned to butterflies.... so, being the contrary person I am, I decided to make a lace patterned butterfly card.

I die cut the butterfly out of masking paper and proceeded to work my way around the card with my Spun Sugar Distress Ink, carefully trying not to overlap the images.   Once I had covered the entire card with the butterflies and the ink, I die cut a butterfly to stand up from the card and added an enamel dot. To help keep the wings aloft, I use some clear tape to give them just a little bit of lift.   All that was left was to add the sentiment from SU's Watercolor Wishes (one of my favorite sentiment sets!)

Here's my card:

Delicate (1 of 1)

I hope you will check out the fabulous cards from our design team - and visit our guest designer this week TaeEun Rainbow in November.

A really good reason to play along .... is the prize!   Our fabulously talented challenge creator, Kylie, decided to start making stamps - and there are some fabulous choices.   Kylie is donating a $15 gift certificate to her online store.

On a personal note:

OK... so... today is the first day of Spring, right?  Well, it might be for some of you... but we woke up to a very white world this morning.  Yep.... it snowed on and off for two days!  I am not saying anything more than that... except to say it's freezing, too!

So... let's move on from the weather and take a look at one of our visitors:

Turkeys (1 of 1)

These guys arrived in a rafter of 8.  All males.  They hung around most of the day.  The next day they arrived with 6 females.  So they had grown to a rafter of 14.  It was really fun watching a couple of the males fluff up their feathers and stick out their chest and parade around like peacocks trying to look impressive.  Didn't seem as though the girls were that impressed!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card - and a little blog candy up for grabs!  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite bloggers. You are an inspiration to all. Have a wonderful day.

Wishing all of you a Holy Week full of love . . . such an special week, full of joy and sadness. God bless each one of you.

Soft and beautiful card Jaydee.
Looks like them gobblers had their feathers waxed the way the sun shines on them.
Have a wonderful evening along with a great weekend.
Rather chilly and very windy here which makes the temperature feel even cooler. At least we didn't get any hail like they had gotten in the Fort Worth area where some got golf ball size hair a foot deep in their yard. Needless to say; many windows where broken out.

Great idea to combine butterflies and lace, what can be more delicate than this? Love your soft shaded pink card!
