Beautiful Doodle Bud Day for Paper Players #292

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday.   Hope you are all having a great weekend so far.

It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and she has a wonderful sketch for us.  It gave me an opportunity to pair some beautiful DSP with my new favorite flower set :-)

Here's the sketch:

Isn't that a great sketch?  I have some more ideas on how to use it, too.

I wanted to go with CAS and softer, more muted colors to match the DSP.  I used my Copic Markers to find colors that were similar to the background papers.

Here's my card:

I hope you can play along with us this week, we would love to see what you create from this sketch.   If you are looking for some inspiration, you don't have far to go!  Click on the links below and visit the creations of our fabulous design team.

On a personal note:

Well, our wetland is starting to look like a wetland and we have a variety of birds in the various ponds that have been created by recent rains.   Also... finally... we have some leaves appearing on the trees and shrubs and flowers are beginning to sprout.  It's amazing what a little rain and raised temps can do for the garden.

Two weeks ago the prairie maintenance team arrived and did a burn on our little bit of prairie.  It's the first time we have done it since we put in the prairie and it was much needed.  This helps to kill off all the bad plants and is very helpful for the good plants.  The Fire Chief was here to watch over the proceedings and the following day all fire permits were cancelled due to high winds - and it was like that for several days, so we were very lucky to be able to get it in.   It was amazing how quickly the green started to appear after the burn and a couple of short rains.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.  Colleen, it's been a while since we heard from you.  Hope everything is OK with you.

Hugs

Jaydee

You have such a talent - the papers coordinated beautifully! My, how do you do it? Your neighbourhood is lucky to have you as caretaker of the wetland. Few people I know would be willing to do what you do to preserve nature. Your efforts should be recognized!

Nance Leedy

Love the papers, love the colors and love all the white space. You matched the dp colors perfectly and I love the soft feel of the design. Lovely card, Jaydee!

Joanne James

I just love this Jaydee! The colour combo is gorgeous (I have saved it!) and I love the way your highlighted flowers frame your sentiment so beautifully and echo the patterned paper behind. So very pretty!

Very pretty Jaydee! The soft pastels look so fresh and clean. The dsp is adorable too. I really love your sentiment and font, it's cool!

I would be nervous doing a prairie burn, but it sounds like you had the experts there in case something went wrong which is great. How often will you have to do that and what did your neighbors think? ; )

Colleen Begley

Love this card and this stamp set. (I have it too.) Love the colors that you've used. You really rocked the sketch this week.
