Doodle Buds Friends for Paper Play Sketches

Floral Friend for Paper Players #290

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful color combination for us:

I decided to go with a floral theme for the card and to keep it really clean and simple.  I have a Fiskars set that I rarely use but love the whimsical simple flower image.

I stamped this image using Memento Black Ink and then colored the flower with my Copic marker pens to match the SU colors.  I used the Pumpkin and Mambo colors for the flower and the Mossy Meadow for the stem.  I included the Soft Sky with the coloring around the flower as well as the base of the card.

Here's my card:

I hope that you will play along with us this week and, if you are looking for some amazing inspiration - check out the cards from our very creative design team:

On  a personal note:

Well... I had intended to post a card for you this week, but Lou and I decided to take a short break away and found ourselves in an area where internet connection was exceptionally spotty internet connection.  Actually, connectivity as a whole was difficult and we were often without cellphone connection either.  It was a gorgeous spot though :-)

I thought I would share a photo of one of our smallest visitors - the American Tree Sparrow.  Generally they spend their time in the cedar trees, but I was lucky enough to catch a shot of him on our normal trees

American tree (1 of 1)

Isn't he a sweet little thing?  They really are beautifully marked with their rust colors and the white window feathers on their wings.  They have spent most of winter with us keeping the Junco's company.

I'll be back with another card on Monday.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Another great card...I think I have mentioned this before but I am such a happy subscriber. Not only do I admire your artwork but love the nature shares and photos. Since moving to urban TX from rural IL, I sure do miss nature. Thanks for filling the void for me along with your talents. DJ

Jaydee your card is clean and simple perfection. I love it. I love the picture of your little sparrow, too. I guess spring is around the corner though it sure doesn't feel that way in the northeast!

What a beautifully clean and elegant use of the challenge colors. With such bold and bright colors, I am amazed you were able to create such a CAS card. But, I shouldn't be...you are the queen of CAS and this card proves it---gorgeous!
