Inlaid Die Cuts for Addicted to CAS
02 April 2016
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Sarah's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a wonderful challenge word for us:
The great thing about this key word is that there are so many different types/shapes/styles of dies that you can use to create your card. I decided to go with the - probably obvious choice - of flowers and combined the dies with DSPs for the background, the flowers and the stems.
If you play along with us this week and are chosen as the winner - there is a fabulous prize from our wonderful challenge creator - Kylie from Happy Little Stampers.
We also have our new guest designer joining us - and I hope you will pop along and check out her wonderful creations. Welcome - or should I say - G'Day - to Shawna: of thegrandstampede
Now... I guess you might want to have a look at my creation for the challenge:
I used some black Irresistibles for the center of the flowers but thought it needed something more, so I brought out my Uniball White pen and added little dots into the Irresistible enamel centers.
I hope you will play along with us this week and, if you are looking for some inspiration, don't forget to check out the amazing cards from our very talented design team.
On a personal note:
Ann - I had to check out your ancestor buried in Westminster Abbey... what an awesome thing! I found we had a connection that extends just beyond my blog.... we aren't related - but your ancestor was born in my home town! To thank you for letting us know who it is... I have a little stamping pressies on its way to you :-)
So, what do you have to do to win the final blog candy of my birthday week.... we'll... truthfully it's not quite my birthday week - let's think of it as an E-X-T-E-N-D-E-D birthday... by almost another week.... I have one last challenge for you......
Want to know what it is? It's pretty simple.... Here is a photograph I took on Tuesday this week. Looks pretty normal for our winter woodland/wetland view.... except.... there.... hidden... not in normal eye-sight.... is one of the most amazing subjects I have photographed since we arrived here...... Because I have such an amazing zoom on my camera I was able to capture the photo.
But..... I zoomed back out - to the normal view - and this is the view. What you have to do to earn this prize is guess what is at the end of my zoom!
What do you have to do to win the blog candy....... guess what is at the end of my zoom lens!
Leave a message on this blog post telling me what you think is at the end of my zoom. You don't have to have the correct answer to win. All responses with a guess will be added to the draw. Just have fun with it ... and take a guess.
The prize? A Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin package. How about that?! worth a guess, I think! I can't wait to hear what you think it is :-)
Thank you to all of you for helping me to celebrate my birthday.
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Happy extended birthday to you, Jaydee! How wonderful that you are giving instead of receiving, and that you have made it a two week long celebration! I love your use of the papers in the last Simon kit, I was thinking about how I might use that kit for things other than Easter cards. The gingham on the flowers is so pretty. As far as your photo goes, no clue! I can't see a darn thing other than the landscape so I will take a guess: wild turkey?

A moose?

Jaydee - I'm going to pretend we're related! Thank you so much. This has been fun. And even after Colleen said she saw a dear AND my enlarging your photo I, like Sandy, couldn't find a thing. Thanks for your generosity and kind spirit!

I must say; I love the seek-n-find photos. I used to do them all the time. Not so much anymore.
Jaydee, this was fun. Thank you

Beautiful card today. I think I see a turkey on the far right. But then something climbing the tree on the far left. My imagination is running wild!!

Gorgeous picture!! It is probably a deer but I am going to go out on a limb and be way different and guess a baby bear cub.

Would like to see the pix in color and I know how the foliage can hid deer, turkey or other wildlife. But my eye cannot detect where or what. You take such wonderful pix from your deck I love looking at them. And your cards are amazing. Keep it up. Thanks.

Happy Belated Birthday. My cousin always has a birthday month - she gets as much out of a birthday as she can!! Just love your photos and I'm having a time deciding what might be out that you've never captured on film - maybe a possum - know it has to be small as we should be able to see it but the wildlife does hid in the tall grasses. Love your gingham flowers - they look like they are ready to pop off the card! Lots of depth. Thanks!

Hi Jaydee, I'm guessing an eagle.
What fun colors on this card.
Spring is coming to Iowa also but too slow for me.
Thanks for sharing the Minnesota nature pictures!

Hi Jaydee! Your card is wonderful! Love the pink gingham. Well, I'm not trying to copy Kim above but reading your description as "most amazing subjects", my guess is an eagle as well. I don't recall you ever getting a photo of one so I'm thinking this is wrong but I tried. ; ) My second guess is a pileated woodpecker. I'm excited to hear and see what you captured on film! We had snow in Ohio yesterday evening, not for very long mind you, but snow!
