Sending a little Sunshine for Addicted to CAS

 Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous Ceal's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a very season appropriate code word for us.  Having just returned from the UK I have experienced much of this particular code word in the last 10 days :-)

Before we get to my card this week, I invite you to check out the blog of our very talented Guest Designer - Caroline at Keep it Sweet & Simple

The winner of our challenge this week will win a $10 shopping spree at:

For my card I used my WPlus9 stamps and matching dies and decided to make a shaker card using some DSP and sequins from the recent Simon Says Stamp card kit.   The DSP was just perfect for the challenge:-)

Here's my card

Sending sunshine (1 of 1)

The frame was created from the die set.  I love the scalloped border and stitch inner.  I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and secured it under the frame.  I thought the yellow sequins would brighten the day of the recipient :-)

If you are looking for some inspiration - you have to look no further than the designs from our very talented design team.  You can check them out on our webpage

On a personal note:

I wanted to share another photo from our trip.... I captured this shot of the pheasant at a Tudor Castle we visited.  More about the castle later this week - but isn't this pheasant just so handsome?

Pheasant (1 of 1)

The topiary figures were interesting, too.  A disembodied porcine topiary to be exact :-)  I thought the details around the eye and mouth were genius!

Topiary (1 of 1)

Isn't that cool?  It takes an artist to create that with a pair of shears!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  •     Stamps and dies:  Sending Sunshine WPlus9
  •     Card stock:  110# Recollections white
  •     DSP and Sequins:  Simon Says Stamp March card kit

Jaydee, you're right, that designer paper is perfect for this challenge! And how cute is it that the sequins look like little pieces of sunshine!

Love this pattern paper! Shaker cards are so fun and this card is just perfect. Terrific inspiration!

Simply beautiful, Jaydee! Love that sweet patterned paper and died frame is perfect for the shaker card.

Absolutely beautiful shaker card. LOved the pattern paper you used inside the shaker.
