Wild Thing for Paper Players

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a code word that is right up my alley!

Now.... how could I resist a challenge like that?

I did have a couple of different options, but I kept going back to my Emu.   I am so in love with this stamp and it makes me smile every time I use it.

This time I decided to pair it with a totally different color scheme - Blackberry Bliss.  it's not a color I use very often, but I love the richness of the color.    I stamped my Emu on an angle and then framed her in.

Here's my card:

Of course, she had to have a hair color to match the Blackberry Bliss.   To add a little more interest I added some Crystal Effects to the eyes.   I love the cross-stitch frame - another tool I don't use very often, but it seemed to work for this card.

If you are looking for some great inspiration - look no further than our design team cards.

On a personal note:

Well, today is going to be warmer - even though we had a freeze overnight.  Terri, so sorry you lost some plants.  Who would have thought that would be the case in the middle of May.  Hopefully the warmer temps will be coming your way - and staying!  Lou and I were going to to the nursery yesterday, but decided to hold off when we saw the weather alerts.  I think we will hold off now until next weekend.  I am dying to get some fresh herbs and plant them.

Our Orioles are still hanging around.  We have 3 pairs that we know of.  I'm sitting at the table in the kitchen/diner and have counted 6 Orioles, 4 Grosbeaks, 3 Purple Finches, the Redbellied Woodpecker, a couple of Hairy Woodpeckers and a yet to be determined bird visiting the jelly and oranges.  It's absolutely wonderful to sit and watch them and it takes me much longer to type my blog post than normal :-)

Colleen, have you got a photograph of your Road Runner?  If you have, would you be prepared to share it?  I'd love to feature it on my blog.  They are amazing birds.  Hopefully you were spared any bad weather.  As you said, you expect it in Texas at this time of year, but I'm not partial to the high winds and hail.

Robyn, if you would like to share any of your Aussie flora/fauna photos as well... we'd love to see them!  I can't imagine hand-feeding the Kookabura!

I am hoping to get some time in my craft room today so I should have some cards to share with you this week.  If I do make some cards, I will be back with you tomorrow to share another project.   In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight

Hugs

Jaydee
