Beautiful Day for Paper Players #307

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  It's the wonderful Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for us:

When I saw this challenge, I realized it was THE perfect opportunity to use my fabulous shimmery gold watercolor inks!

I began with the golden shimmer gold watercolor inks with just a little water.  I placed the Tim Holtz sunrise stencil vertically onto my card base and gently stamped the gold watercolor inks with a sponge.  Whilst that was being left to dry, I worked on my flower.  I stamped that onto watercolor paper and colored it with Zig markers.   I love the fabulous shimmer from the sun rays.

Here's a closeup to get you started:-)

I really do love the shimmer.

All that was left to do was to assemble the card, stamp the sentiment and add a few gold enamel dots.  Here's my card:

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further that our amazing desing team:

On a personal note:

Ok.... it's still hot and humid here.  I honestly think this is one of the longest spells of heat and humidity that I can remember.  Lou and I were at the nursery today and I swear I wanted to jump into a fountain and cool off.

We purchased a few more butterfly attracting - and hosting plants.  Because... well... our 24 butterflies didn't stick around, so we presume that we don't have quite what they are looking for!  We added Joe Pye Weed, Cardinal Flower, Showy Goldenrod, Swamp Milweed and even... horrors of horrors ... annuals in the form of Zinnias.  Now.. Zinnias are NOT my favorite flower... they are just too hot and too showy for me :-)  but... apparently the butterflies - and even the humming birds like them...   So.... Lou will be planting them tomorrow and we are going back to get a few more to help fill out some empty spaces - and take over the place of some of the bee balm, which has really taken over!

We do have a few Prairie Onions planted and they are so pretty.

I love listening to the male goldfinch and watching them flitting backwards and forwards.  Their call is one of the prettiest sounds in the bird world... it makes me happy just listening to it

Tomorrow is Lou's birthday and we have a relaxing day ahead of us.  I am hoping that I might get into my stamping space tomorrow whilst Lou is stamping.. but we will see what the day brings.

I'll be back on Monday with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight - especially my dearest Pammie.

Hugs
