Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a color challenge. Now.... I have to admit this challenge did exactly that... challenge me.... mostly because I don't have Emerald Envy as a color in my portfolio :-) So, I had to look deep into my colors and find a color that resembled Emerald. However, I did have Real Red and Mint Macaroon :-)
I decided to create a Christmas card and use the Mint Macaroon as the base for the label area. I tapped my Mint Macaron ink pad onto my stamping block, stamped it off once on a piece of scrap paper and then stamped it into the middle of my card base - creating a distressed frame. I then inked up my holly stamp using a zig watercolor marker that was the closest resemblance to Emerald Envy that I had. I stamped it, die-cut it and adhered the middle part of it to my card base.
For the sentiment, I used the Halftone Seasons and inked and die-cut the Seasons, and stamped the remainder of the sentiment. All that was left, was to add some red colored pearls and I was ready to go.
Here's my card:
If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the creations from our amazing design team.
On a personal note:
I thought I would share a couple of photos with you today. Here's a sweet shot showcasing a Charm of Goldfinches at our tray feeder. The males have lost their brilliant yellow from the breeding season - but they are still a gorgeous bird - and I love to hear them sing.
I know the leaves have all gone - well except the ones on the oak; the oaks always seem reluctant to let go of their bronze leaves at the end of fall.... but I couldn't resist sharing this photo of the maples that we planted mixed with the oaks. It was a dull grey day (reminded me of England!) - and you can see that from the clouds behind the trees. However, the lack of sunlight didn't stop the colors from looking fabulous:
Well, I am off to spend a little time in my craft room today. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
