Snowy Hamlet and blog candy
From our home to yours.....

Modern Deer

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday.

Before we get to our card for today, let's announce the winner of the blog candy.  Once again you proved that it is hard to outwit many of you.  The photo of the greens in the snow was - ROSEMARY.  It's planted in a box on our deck along with some basil, sage, thyme and ...... my favorite.... chocolate mint.  (strawberries topped with Chocolate mint and Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar -is a truly wonderful combination, by the way!)  Other than the Rosemary, nothing survives winter.

The winner of the JOY die is.....

Congratulations, Evelyn, please send  your snail mail address to my email - you can do that on the right-hand side panel of my blog - and I will send off your JOY die in the mail :-)  Thank you to all of you who played along :-)

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.   I love the Altenew Modern Deer set and had great fun creating this card using some of my dies and the snowflake stencil from Simon Says Stamp:

Moderndeer (1 of 1)

I am in love with this stamp set and will be using it to create some of the cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids and also Card Care Connection.  It's a very versatile stamp set that can be used for any time of the year.

On a personal note:

25 cards made for Cards for Hospitalized Kids.  Still a long way to go.  It's easier creating cards for the kiddies than it is for teenagers... so am out scouting for some ideas!  I had a great time yesterday making cards for the younger kids and made good use of some of my old DSP that is just sitting in my craft room.  I don't know why, but I so rarely use DSP any more, so it felt good to get it out and put it to good use.  I also had fun coloring the images on the cards.  I will be sharing some of the cards with you later.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow - and another blog candy!  So, I hope you will come back again tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight - including my dearest Tinkerbell.

Jaydee, these deer are adorable! What an awesome stamp and reminds me of all your photos with deer at your feeder. ; ) I now have a 13 year old daughter and yes, teen cards are so much more challenging. Wishing you lots of luck and inspiration for your card making.

Hi JayDee, What a wonderful surprise to win the die-set!! I'm not able to get the link to your email to work but have included my email in this - perhaps we can communicate that way. Thanks so much!

Beautiful card! I recently bought the Modern Deer set but haven't even inked it up yet! Your card inspires me!

Sniff! Sniff! . . . but I am glad for Evelyn!! The deer are so cute . . . let's cheer with a chocolate mint!! Lots of good things for you and Lou . . . may the Lord continue looking after you both.

Marina . . . from far Africa!!

Congratulations to Evelyn on the win.

Another lovely card Jaydee.
Sure a difference in temperature her today compared to what it was over the weekend; (down in the 20 - teen's). It's in the 60's right now and going to be in the 70's here for Christmas Day with very good chance of severe thunderstorms
