Celebrate Butterflies - for Paper Players #329
29 January 2017
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
I hope you are all having a great weekend. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a sketch for us:
I wasn't sure where to go with this sketch and it's all because I have a thing about squares.... I don't know what it is.... something in my little brain, for sure! I rarely use squares on a card and, when I do, it's generally as a result of a challenge. Well, that's what challenges are all about - taking us outside of our comfort zone.
I die-cut 4 squares with my SSS stitched squares dies and decided to play around with those squares on a sheet of cardstock. I tried a couple of things but they just were not working. So, I walked away from it for a while and realized that I could stamp and color butterflies and place those on the squares. But.. I was then in a quandry about what to do with the two different patterns above and below the squares. I decided to color the butterflies and see if something came to mind. Once I had the butterflies colored, I realized I could do some ink blending to match the butterflies. Et Voila!
I hope you will join us and play along this week. As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than our fabulous design team creations:
