Uncorked for Paper Players # 332
Tulips for Just Us Girls

Hey, Chick for Paper Players #333

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.

It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a corker of a sketch:

Now, there are so MANY places you can go with this sketch that I really couldn't make up my mind what to do.  In the end I realized that I could have some fun with a new SU stamp set that I just HAD to have... really, I couldn't resist it:-)  I actually made another couple of cards with this set today, so you will be seeing more of it over the next week!

I began by stamping the three silly chicks onto pencil friendly paper and then colored them with my Prismacolors.  I know you heard me say this recently... but I am in love with coloring with them.  I have the Polychromos as well, but they don't give me as much pleasure as my Prismas.

Heychick (1 of 1)

I stamped and masked the two chicks in the background and then popped the one at the front.  Really!  Seriously!  who can not smile at that silly chicks face :-)  One of my favorite SU sets ever :-)

If you are looking for some amazing inspiration, you have to look no further than our fabulous design team creations:

On a personal note:

Firstly, I want to thank all of you who left me comments - or sent me emails - regarding the ridiculous job situation.  I cannot tell you how much I appreciated your support.  It's still ridiculous and we are all trying to come to terms with it and deciding what to do.  Crazy... it's the only word that I can use to describe the situation!!!  Pat, my heart goes out to you and your fellow workers.

On a more positive note - I did get to spend some time in my craft room today and I cannot tell you how much that revives my spirit.  As one of my fellow crafters, Cary, said in her message... Crafting sure is cheaper than therapy.   And what amazing therapy it is.  Back in 2014 when my bestie Pammie came to visit, she needed to send a get well card to a co-worker.  She very tentatively asked me if I could make a card for her co-worker.  I said.. heck... yeah.. but why don't you make one.  Well, that tentative foray into card making has created a card making monster!  Pammie is making beautiful cards and is really finding her way to a wonderful CAS style.   I am SO very proud of her.  In addition, almost all of the cards she makes are being sold for cancer charities.    I feel like a proud Mama Bear :-)

I will be back tomorrow night with another card for you.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Jaydee, I LOL when I saw your card! I have to admit, I am scared of chickens. I grew up on a farm and one of my chores as a young girl was to gather the eggs. Let's just say, those chickens did not always like me coming into their home. uggggg Your coloring is amazing. I might need to try those pencils. I continue to keep you in my prayers! Hoping you find peace with your decisions. Much love to you! Have a great week! XX

Doris

You've made these silly chickens look quite fabulous indeed with their bright colors--just love 'em. The wonky stitched die perfectly mimics their scattered foot prints too--so much fun! I'm glad you're able to have some fun in your craft room and color the stress away! big hugs, my friend!

Oh this card cracks me up, Jaydee! I had lots of ideas for this sketch too, but chickens wasn't one of them! So adorable, great coloring, and I wish I could sit down and color with you :)
