Amazing You for Paper Players #334

Hi Everyone.

Happy Sunday.  I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.  It's the awesome Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's a corker!

Seriously, how perfect is this challenge for me?!!! :-)

I decided - don't ask me why - to make a shaker card.  So, die-cut?  Check!  Then I decided to use my new Altenew Amazing you set - and cut that out.   Cut?  Check!  Now, if Sandy had made this a COLORING and CUT IT OUT challenge - it would have been my all time favorite challenge.  Mind you, just because Sandy didn't ask for coloring, doesn't mean that I couldn't :-)

I stamped and colored the flower and die-cut a frame for the shaker.  I then used a stencil to do a tone on tone pattern on the card base.  I colored the flower and die-cut it and the leaves and then stamped a sentiment using my favorite Altenew Label Love stamp set.     I filled the shaker with the some bling and adhered the flower on top.

I'm also entering this into the 30 day marker challenge - I might not be coloring cards, but I am still trying to color my color-a-day calendar every day - it really is an amazing way to relax.  I recently read that coloring can also help Alzheimer's and dementia patients and might help to improve memory.  Who would have thought that something we did as children would be so satisfying as adults!

Here's my card:

I hope you will join us this week and play along with our challenge.  If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the creations from our wonderful design team:

On a personal note:

I managed to sit out on the porch for about 15 minutes today.  It was only 40 degrees, but the one corner of our porch is so protected when the sun is shining and it becomes a little sun trap.  Mind you, it's going to be 60 degrees tomorrow - so, I should be able to sit outside without a woolly wrap around my shoulders:-)

Yesterday I was working at the dinette table and heard bird calls coming from the heated bird bath on the deck.  I thought they sounded unusual - not th eusual goldfinches, sparrows, woodpeckers, etc.   I turned around and there were 10 robins, 4 starlings and 1 red-shouldered blackbird trying to get onto the water bowl.  They were our first spring arrivals!

I had to take the photo through the screen - but I did want to share.  I'm always happy to hear the call of the red-shouldered blackbird - it's then that I know spring is around the corner!

Robins (1 of 1)

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Love your fun sparkly shaker card!! And I am so jealous of your bird friends. We live in a new area of the city and there isn't a tree for miles.

Oh Jaydee, this is so beautiful! I love every detail! The stenciled background, the gorgeous bloom and the bling in the shaker! WOW! One of my favorite shaker cards--ever!
I love to color and I pray it helps against Alzheimers. We lost my Daddy to this dreaded disease!
I adore all your nature pictures. I sat outside today. It was 68 and FABULOUS! Everything is blooming in ATL and it is spectacular! Have a great rest of the week! XX

This is a gorgeous shaker Jaydee! That flower is so pretty, and I love the cross stitched rectangle!

Have a great day:)

Your opening comments crack me up Jaydee, so glad you had fun with this challenge! Your card is truly stunning, I love the soft curve of the blossom and the sparkly shaker ingredients. A heated bird bath? Even your feathered friends are spoiled!

WOW!!! This is a stunner, Jaydee! Love how you made a delicate background for that beautiful flower and little shimmery things inside of the window are gorgeous.

This has to be the most gorgeous and elegant shaker card I've ever seen! The white and silver backdrop is so soft and subtle and the flower just pops. Gorgeous look of the silver in the shaker--looks a bit like mercury glass. Just gorgeous, my friend!

Robins! How wonderful. Well, we have Canada geese and they're about to get a nasty snowy surprise. I love the luxury of your heated bird bath. What a treat for them and you both.

What a beautiful shaker card! Thanks for posting the birds, too. We had a flock of robins land in our yard last week. I never saw so many at once before. We had to take down our feeder last year because of the bears, so I miss seeing all the birds.

I'm always partial to a shaker card and I know Sandy is too - way to rock her challenge this week Jaydee! Your sprinkles and beautifully coloured and diecut flower are just gorgeous! I love the stitched edge detailing and the faint background pattern too - such a lovely card. You're so right about colouring too - I love it and find it very relaxing and it has proven health benefits; a great way to justify more craft time!

Karen Russell

Love your Card!
