Dragonfly Dreams for Paper Players # 335

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and I have a color challenge for you:

As a girl of Irish ancestry, it had been my intention to make a St Patrick's Day card... but I decide to stretch myself and try to do something different.

I realized I had the new Stampin' Up! dragonfly stamp and that this would be the ideal focal image.  Now..... what to place it on?  It took me a while before I remembered I had a Tim Holtz Wildflower stencil and used it with my Heidi Swapp Metallic White paste.  I love the shimmer and shine it gives.  It is subtle in color, but has beautiful shine when you move the card around.   I thought it would be perfect.

I decided to keep with the green theme and used the Altenew Label Love "hello" stamp which I stamped in green onto white card stock.

Here's my card:

Ppdragonfly (1 of 1)

You probably can't see it, but I stamped the base of the dragonfly in a chartreuse green and then used my Verdigris embossing powder - I love the look that it gives - a little gold, a little green - a little vintage.  Very pretty!

As you can see, the metallic paste is more ivory than white - and I love the tone on tone that it gives to white card stock.  I kept the inside clean and simple:

I hope you will join us this week.  If you are looking for some inspiration you can, as usual, find some fabulous creations from our design team:

On a personal note:

OK...... so.... it got down to -5 a couple of morning's ago - a huge difference to the 61 over the weekend!  It was freezing.  I am SO over winter - and SO ready for spring.  I am really, really looking forward to seeing some green :-)

I felt sorry for these little guys.  I was sitting at the dinette table working and heard this bird chirping and chirping and chirping.  Not our usual birds.  Eventually, I had to go and look what it was and was amazed to see a pair of bluebirds.   WAY too early.  They spent about 4-5 hours testing out the nesting boxes, but eventually moved off.  I am so sorry that they did move off, as we were ready to go and put out some worms to help them out.

I didn't manage to get a good shot, so really don't have anything to share with you - it's really fuzzy.  The female was sitting on top of the box, while the male was checking out the interior and making quite a racket whilst he was doing so.

This last weekend also saw the return of the Sandhills.  Again - very early.  It was wonderful to hear them calling as they flew overhead.  It is the most amazing sound.

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
