HI Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a very versatile sketch for us.
I decided to use a wooden square for the central element. It was one of the shapes that came in my New Day card kit from Altenew. I also decided to color it rather than leave it as bare wood.
To continue the wooden theme, I used some woodgrain card stock for the base. I stamped the multi-step stamp from Garden Treasure and then mounted the flower and leaves to the wooden square. I needed a horizontal element - so used a strip of vellum to sit behind my square. I mounted the whole lot to a piece of pink DSP from the same card kit and then added the finishing touch - the sentiment.
Here's my card:
I hope you will join us this week. If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the creations from our amazing design team:
On a personal note:
Today was a glorious day. Not too hot. Not too humid. Not too sunny. Not to cloudy. It really felt like a Goldilocks day :-) I got to spend some time crafting this afternoon and looking out over the green of the woodland and wetland. Finally.. the world is looking green :-)
The wetland is certainly living up to it's name! It's wet and boggy. You don't realize just how much water is underneath the grasses until you hear the deer running away!
I managed to capture a shot of the bright, late afternoon sun
We had a visitor at our jelly feeder for about 4 days. He was impossible to capture other than through the window and screen. We first saw a pair of these guys as they were making their way south at the end of Fall last year. I think he must have been making a pit stop in our garden on his way north. I hope they visit us again at the end of the season.
In the five years we have been in the house, last year was the first time that we had even seen the Sapsucker - so it was great to see them again this spring.
I'll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Love the coloured wooden frame Jaydee, very clever and beautifully co-ordinated with the white wood-embossed background. A perfect backdrop for your pretty flower. Cute photo of your feathered friend too!

Love all the wooden elements on your pretty card, Jaydee. The vellum strip is a great idea in keeping with the sketch without too many layers. Beautiful coloring on the flower too--lovely card, my friend!
