Hi Everyone.
As it was drizzling, grey, wet and cold again today, I did manage to spend a little time in my craft room and played along with a couple of challenges.
Here's the fabulous color theme from Color Throwdown
And here is the theme challenge from Simply Less is Moore:
It took me a couple of minutes to work out what I was going to do for geometric - as I really don't have many geometric stamps. Then I remembered the New Day Card Kit from Altenew had some geometric wood elements that I really didn't know what to do with. :-) I found one element that was absolutely perfect for the challenge. But... how did I incorporate the colors? I realized I could do some background blending using the three colors and that the geometric shapes would make a great masculine card.
Lou has been gone a LOT recently and he's half-way through another 10 day trip, so I decided it would be a good time to send him a virtual card and, as he gets my blog updates in his email - it meant that he shouldn't miss it.
Here's my card for Lou:
No pink. No ribbon. No twine. No sequins. Nothing frufru - and it incorporates Lou's favorite color - (Bianchi) Celeste Blue :-) So, Lou, I think it's about time you came home now :-)
On a personal note:
It might be cold, wet, windy, drizzling, grey and rather English in feel... but the weather has certainly made the wetland look like a wetland. We have puddles everywhere - and the grasses have turned green - finally :-)
Here's a photo from May 12:
Here's what it looked like today:
More leaves.... yay! All we need is a little warmer weather and everything should start to really sprout.
I was working at the dinette table on Friday and hard this thumping and wondered who on earth was walking on the deck behind me. I turned around to see and it wasn't anyone - it was this guy trying to find something in the deck table! As the table top is concrete, you can imagine the sound it made when the pileated attacked it with his beak!
I was out on the deck and managed to capture this shot of a pair of Baltimore Orioles tonight. Now that they have been back a week or so, they are more settled and less skittish.
I hope you enjoyed the photos. I will be back tomorrow with another card and some more photographs. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight
Hugs
Jaydee

I so love that wooden frame - what a great geometric element to add to your design. Its crisp outline really pops against the soft inky background. Thank you so much for playing along with us at Less is More this week :)
