Beautiful You Birthday for Paper Players #347

Painted Rose for Color Throwdown #443

Hi Everyone.  Happy Wednesday.

I have a huge treat tonight... well, it was for me :-)   Because of this card that I made for Lou, I have the pleasure of being the guest designer across at Color Throwdown this week.   YAY!  This is really exciting for me.

I love the amazing color combos the team come up with every week but, due to work schedules, find it really hard to get my cards made in time to meet the challenge deadline.  Lucky for me, I made it a couple of weeks ago.

So, thank you so much to the team for letting me play along with them this week and, as usual, they have an amazing photo inspiration color challenge for us.

Look carefully at this photo.... it isn't quite the sweet, rose-filled image you think :-)  How typical of pottery barn to hide a pirate pillow in there :-)

Isn't that a glorious color combo? :-)   I decided to go along with the theme as well as the colors and pulled out my Altenew Painted Rose stamp set.   I stamped the one image of the multilayer stamp around the card base and then added gold leaves.  I then added a few navy blue dots around the flowers and leaves and mounted the panel to a Night of Navy base.

I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and added a layer of mirrored gold card stock underneath it.

Here's my card:

To add a little balance to the card, I wrapped a piece of navy and white baker's twine around the top and tied it into a bow.

Also... I apologize for the strange hue of the photos.... as my regular reader's know, I take my photos inside the house.  This week has been grey, dull, rainy and cloudy... and it was impossible to get a decent shot.... so the colors appear a little dull and lifeless and I promise you that they really are much better in normal daylight :-)

To add a little more interest to the roses, I took my gold gel pen and outlined areas of the roses.  I love the little bit of glimmer and interest that gives:

I added a little something to the inside:

Then... I added a little something to the envelope as well:

I do hope you will play along with the Color Throwdown challenge this week.  If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the fabulous creations of the design team.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
